Aloha Sprinklerinos,
Whilst in Covent Garden (London) a few weeks before Christmas, I popped into MAC to buy some false lashes and have them fitted for a party I was attending. As I sat have my eyes fiddled with (weird concept there), I decided on a whim to treat myself to a bottle of perfume that I remembered my friend Zoe ravving about a few years back.
I parted with my pennies and walked out with a brand spanking new bottle of MAC Turquatic and have been delighted with it ever since. The website describes it as, 'featuring anemone, lotus, orris and coriscan blue cedar' and I would describe it as light, feminine and sophisticated. Perfect for being a gal about town or flouncing into meetings with. It's not what I would consider a date night scent as it isn't very flirty but it is definitely going to become a staple piece in my collection.
Fickle as it may be, I adore the packaging of this perfume too. I have always heard from my Grandma, 'blue and green should never been seen', meaning the two colours fail to compliment each other but I think this sharp little bottle disagrees.
Turquatic is also stocked in a rollerball which is perfect for bags where space is a premium or for travelling- yay!
If you're a keen bean (which I do hope you are), you can see the day I bought this item in the video about. Skip to 8.06 to see it featured if you don't fancy watching the whole shibang.
What perfume are you loving at the moment? Anything I should consider? Or, do you not bother with perfume all together and think it's a frivolous waste? Tell me!
Toodlepip!

I love the bottle of the fragrance :) Great review Louise!

I don't think its a frivolous waste, but I haven't tried any new scents lately. This seems nice, as I don't like heavy, fruity, flowery scents. The packaging is lovely! Oh, and I personally like bright blues and greens together.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I might have to make a purchase ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your photography!
ReplyDeleteAll the best :) xx
I love perfumes! I have about 4 in my collection at the moment. They are: Dot by Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang Princess (the original one), Lovestruck by Vera Wang (there's a theme here) + Sensuous Nude by Estée Lauder (it's rather spicy). If you get a wiff of them somewhere, let me know what you think!
ReplyDeleteI really love the limited edition Disney fragrances Sephora has featured over the last few years. The Cinderella one is my absolute favorite & I even wore it on my wedding day, I also wore a Cinderella dress from an Alfred Angelo collection so it seemed quite fitting. Even though nothing else about my wedding had to to with Cinderella or Disney... :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried Turquatic yet, definitely something to try eventually. I am currently loving Our Moment (yes that is the 1D perfume but it smells so good!!)
ReplyDeleteI like!
ReplyDeleteLoving the green DKNY at the moment. It has a zingy, fruity smell and it's totally a daytime purfume
ReplyDeleteI love wearing perfume- I feel weird and smelly without it (isn't it gross and weird how people from the 1700's used to drench themselves in it because they would almost never bathe...). It's definitely become part of my daily routine. Right now I'm loving DKNY's "apple a day" and a few of the Juicy Couture ones. I love going to the beauty counters at department stores and spraying them all but then I forget which one is which so it does me no good. :) x
ReplyDeleteThis might be a try for me!
ReplyDeleteI love the little bottle too xox

Dear Louise, I love the layout of your blog. Also I want to say that I wish you a lot of motivation for #GlitterGetsFitter. You can do it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fragrances at the moment are "tommy girl" by Tommy Hilfiger, "Miss Dior" from Christian Dior and "Dot" from Marc Jacobs.
Lots of love from Germany :)
Oh!!! Thank-you for doing this Louise, I actually wanted to get Turquatic but wasn't sure- now I probably will, I saw it in your vlogmas earlier too haha. I am loving Burberry classis Brit at the moment! xxx

I work in a cosmetics department and thought I had tried every fragrance imaginable.....BUT tried YSL's "Manifesto" for the first time today (I know I know it's been out for ages) and WOW!!!! Absolutely LOVE it!!!! Definitely worth a spritz the next time you're shopping in fragrances. Sweet but not overpowering, feminine but not flouncy.....I think it probably smells like what Beyoncé smells like. So there ya go.
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous bottle, so curious to go down to my MAC store and give this a sniff!

I'm always looking for new light perfumes and this scent seems right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Elizabeth Arden's green tea fragrances at the moment. She has Green Tea and Green Tea Cherry Blossom. I'd say the cherry blossom is just a more flirty version of the green tea one. I'm in love with both.

D&G pour femme is my favourite winter perfume! I would describe it as a warm scent.
ReplyDeleteIn germany we say "grün und blau schmückt die Sau" that means (one to one translation) "green and blue adorns the sow" I hope my translation is right :-D
I keep trying to get away from my staple favourite, but I always wear Coco Madmoiselle from Chanel. I keep buying other perfumes, then just feel wrong when I wear them!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else had MAC eyelashes fitted? Is it worth it?

I haven't tried this as I've never seen it near me and I wouldn't buy without trying first! I have a ridiculously large collection of perfumes, which is quite unnecessary, but worth it all the same. My hands down favourite has to be Euphoria by Calvin Klein!
ReplyDeleteThe bottle looks amazing! I'll have a smell this next time I visit the MAC store x

Funny how we seem to have similar fragrance tastes! I bought this a couple of weeks ago, it's perfect for everyday - clean and distinctive without being overpowering in the least. I also noticed you love Viva La Juicy Noir and Gucci II (which I can't seem to find anywhere in the UK!) both of which are my favourites.
ReplyDeleteI think you'd love Fabulous by Victoria's Secret, Lavanila Vanilla Grapefruit, Be Enchanted by Bath and Body Works, La Petite Robe Noir by Guerlain and possibly Dot by Marc Jacobs. Yes, I am having an ever-so-slight fragrance moment as of late. xo

I absolutely love perfume but I have to admit I find it a little hard to part with the money for some of the more higher end perfumes. This one sounds so lovely. Also totally agreeing with you on the blue and green going perfectly together! Whoever made up the blue and green never being seen rule has clearly never seen this perfume, haha.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely day :)
