Aloha Sprinklerinos,
Last week Matt and I were in Milton Keynes shopping centre to show Baby Glitter the lights and festive displays. Naturally, like a moth to a flame I was drawn to the cosmetic stands in Superdrug and ended up treating myself to a few Barry M bits.
I initially wanted a mooch at 'Red Black' but then 'Rasberry' caught my eye and said, "I'm so jolly, I'm so festive, don't leave me, buy me, buy me!" and who can refuse a talking nail varnish?? Not me.
The 'Lilac' foil effect polish came free for spending over £6. I'm really not a fan of it and fail to see how it is actually classed as an effect. Surely there are tonnes of nail varnishes out there that give off a metalic finish? Hmmm. I might give it a whirl and see if the proof is in the pudding.
After all the lovely compliments I have had on my other Lip Lacquer in Party Pink (I've worn it a lot in my videos of late), I decided to pick up another, this time in Cherry Red. I'm excited to pop this on my pout. Oohh that was illiteration at it's best, haha.
Without flash.
With flash.
I'm pleased as punch to have these little bits in my stash. I've never gone wrong with Barry M. It's affordable, has a huge fun range and really allows you to go wild with colour.
Are you a Barry M girl?
Toodlepip!
xx
PS- Blogger appears to be playing silly buggers and is not letting me highlight any text. This means I can't spell check, centre or colour links for you. Sorry about this, please shake your fists angrily at Blogger. xx
I love love love Barry M, so affordable and the glitter polishes are great, i love wearing the red glitter over one coat of red polish, its so festive!
ReplyDeleteI saw the 'lilac' foil effect polish in Superdrug the other too and had the exact same thought about it as you.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Barry M. I think it's such great value! Red Black is on my wishlist :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, i really dislike Barry M nail paints at the moment (bar the gold foil effect)
ReplyDeleteI much prefer Models Own and they are only a couple of extra pounds.

Great little haul! I love Barry M, I get so many compliments whenever I wear Mushroom. I picked up Red Black a few weeks ago but my nails are poop at the moment and I can't wear it until they start behaving again.
ReplyDeleteRaspberry is gorgeous! I swatched it a few months ago:

ReplyDeletelove these colours. I have the red/black shade and it looks fab on the nails xxx
ReplyDeletedefinitely a barry m girl! i love the nail polishes, although they take about 50 million hours to dry, if you've got the time the colours are so worth the wait!xxx
ReplyDeleteI love the way you take pictures! And I wish so badly that we had Barry M here in the US.. I would love to try so many things from them!

Ooh the Red Black nail polish looks very, VERY similar to Valentine from Revlon - my all time favourite nail varnish. Such a lovely blood red (actually, ew, how gruesome! But oh well!) but it's a great colour for the winter. Raspberry also looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how the Lilac Foil Effect can be classed as an effect either? I've seen pictures/reviews of the silver and gold ones and it has a slightly matte finish? It would probably be better to just buy actual nail foils.

Red Black is probably one of my favourite Barry M varnishes. I totally agree with you about how they are marketing their metallic varnishes as an 'effect' Bit poo really! x

ReplyDelete'red black' is such a gorgeous colour, i can't wait to run out and get it :) that lilac looks really nice too, but i don't think metallic can be classed as an effect either, can it? x
ReplyDeleteI adore Barry M. It's definitely the best range for affordable polish :)xo

Love the colours you chose! I picked up two Barry M nail paints a few days ago (grey and the purple crackle) and got the lilac foil colour free too. At first I was like.... This colour int fer me but al av it for nowt (<that's my Yorkshire accent - posh!) Anyway, I have the foil on now and I loves it! I have it under the purple crackle and they compliment each other nicely. You should definitely give the lilac foil a try... it might just surprise you!

Hi Louise! Do you know if Barry M Nail Paints or Gellys are only found in the UK? I'd really like to try them but I'm not finding them anywhere and there's barely any choices on eBay.
