The Last of Summer

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

This week I started looking at leather boots online so I know for sure that Summer is tucked up in bed and Autumn is here. Hooray. Autumn is my most favourite season but that's another post. THIS post actually, haha.

A couple of weeks ago Matt and I, along with our amazing friend Clare, took Darcy to a nearby beauty spot to take THIS photo but naturally, Mama and her big girl camera went a bit snap-tastic. I considered leaving them loitering on my desktop since it's now Autumn but no, they've made it into Glitter Land. Sneaky little buggers.

Sadly these aren't my lovely pins. These are Clare's and this was totally a 'didn't even mean to take it' shot. I just think it's so beautiful. Darcy has so much love for Clare and I'm so glad that she has such kind, intelligent women around her. Smoosh smoosh smoosh.

Summer 2013 was good to me. Garden parties with friends, Baby Glitter milestones, trips to see friends, a big ol' visit to LA, half a million YouTube subscribers, date nights, lazy days and a lot of laughter. Dare I say it? Summer 2013 was my best Summer yet.

Here is a big farewell to Summer 2013 and a deep hopeful breath in that Autumn follows in it's fruitful footsteps.

How was your Summer? Are you able to summarise it in under a paragraph? Tell me in the comments.

Toodlepip!

I am missing summer already, as happy as I am to dig out cute boots and jumpers, I also sort of want to jet off somewhere warm...

  3. I loved this summer! I was nominated for 6 blog awards here in Ireland, got to visit London with Smashbox, got brave enough to start a YouTube channel and redecorated the spare room! It flew by week by week but it was a brilliant few months all in all. I'm glad it's autumn now, I feel all cosy already but am refusing to turn the heat on until October. We'll see how long that lasts...

  13. My summer was great. Had the time off from college and spent it with my 2 year old. We played in parks, we visited museums, visited family and everything else that goes with free mummy time. Took tonnes of photographs, blogged about it and cherished every moment.
It's sad to be back at college and away from my son after such a nice summer. Getting jealous of you being a stay at home mummy!

I love the picture of you, Matt and Darcy together. So cute!
I enjoyed my Summer, with spending 2 months in London with my BFF and brother. And now I'm living here in London, studying Nursing. I had many trips to the city of London, to different parks, Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studios, and I'm looking forward to Christmas. It's my favorite time of year... apart from the horrendous cold!
Luv you lots & lots Louise :)

My Summer was Incredible! well technically it was my winter because I am Australian but as I was in the Northern Hemisphere I got 2 summers! I am on my Gapyear so have been travelling all over the place. I went to Paris, Spain, Morocco, Ireland and all around the UK! I got to go to summer in the city (where I met you!) and this monday I am off for a 24 day trip around Europe before I go home to get ready for another summer!!
it has been a few exciting months!

  31. Lovely summary Louise - so glad you've had such a good summer and I hope the coming months are just as good to you, especially in regards to subscribers because come on, you deserve at least a million :)
My summer has been brilliant: first big family holiday in a few years (cruise round the black sea then turkey with my mum, dad and brother), finding out while sailing out of Istanbul that I got a first in my degree, going to see Robbie Williams & Olly Murs, GRADUATION!, trip to London with the family where we saw Derren Brown and Harry Potter World, and a 3 week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia... such a lucky girl :) (Though I think I deserve it after 5 whole years of university!)
Now...just to sort of the rest of my life!!

My summer was a mixture of everything really. My 'real' life drowned in Uni work and awful stress that made me totally unhappy with my life but on the other hand, I got my blog and youtube channel really working and found such amazing friends in the online beauty community. Let's hope there will be less of the first and more of the latter in the next months! :)

  45. Beautiful pictures! I also enjoy summer but love when Autumn gets here. My summer was good, but mostly filled with school since I was finishing up my Masters degree. But now I can say that summer 2013 was the summer I finished school! (As far as I know I have no plans on going back to school anytime soon) I was a bit sad to not be able to do many "summery" things, but it's worth it to have accomplished something else.

    Keep Smiling!

Well, for my summer 2013, I went to Paris and it was an amazing escapade! I loved it so so much! And I also went in London! Yay! It was also very fun, I liked it a lot, I did an afternoon tea, which I got sick because I ate wayyyy to much, but I love cucumbers sandwiches! And little cakes, omigod! and Also, I loved Primark, Oxford Circus street, taking the red buses, every thing was perfect, except you damn expensive pounds :( but still it was one of my 2013 highlight and probably the most extraordinary thing I ever done by myself, I planned everything from A to Z, my BFF was with me and I could talk about it for hours!

  90. I had a great Summer vacation! Last Summer I had an internship that sucked the life out of me and I literally had no time for fun, friends, or family. So this Summer I said, "Screw it! I'm going to do what I want!" I already had a trip to Europe planned since Winter so I hopped on a plane to London with my best friend and her mom to explore London, Paris, & Rome (I've never been to these places so it was a blast). And then I went on two road trips to LA (once with my family and once with my friend's family). I am so happy and grateful that I was able to have a whole Summer to unwind from a stressful and monotonous first year of college and working. There were some bumps in the road, having to do with my grandpa, but I had a lovely Summer :)

Happy that you also had a fun Summer, Louise! <3

  93. A way to sum up my summer in one word would be stressfully amazing! I finished year 13 so that was I think the most stressed I have ever felt before, but as a reward (and because both my brother and I had big birthdays that year) my parents bought us a holiday to New York! I'd never been before and probably never will go again so it really was a magical time!
And now I'm studying for university, so let the stress pile back on!

But I'm glad you've had a great summer, reading your blog always reminds me of the truly important things in life - friends and family, which I am liable to forget, so thanks for writing it and being yourself.

  108. Gorgeous photos. I'm so sad to see summer go :( I feel so much better in summer. The best thing about this summer has been the weather, which was much improved on previous years (aside from June, which was basically winter). I tried to make the most of it by going on as many walks as possible. It was marred slightly by the uber stress of buying a house. But we've moved in now and I have a beautiful garden to enjoy next summer :D
