Avon | Connecting Beauty Lovers

I’ve been using my trusty pals at Avon for donkeys years now. There’s something I’ve always loved about their personal approach to the business world, I even wrote about their amazing door-to-door service way back when in 2010 and still find myself getting super excited when my local representative drops my monthly brochure through the letterbox. You can’t ask for much more than being able to fill out a form and have everything you’ve ordered delivered directly to your door with a smiley face and a little catch up to boot.

You may already know, but Avon also offer an online service – if you need things a little more urgently you can shop your must haves on the web and have them delivered that way.

Now of course they offer a top-notch service but let’s not forget about what they actually sell! Avon have always been my go to affordable beauty brand, their books come jam-packed with makeup, beauty products, perfume, clothing AND home ware all at amazingly competitive prices. 

There are some items I've been dying to get my mitts on including a selection of the Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliners, the Ideal Luminous Shimmer Block and True Colour 8 in 1 Eyeshadow Palette. Avon's eyeshadows always pack a punch with their pigmentation so I'm looking forward to creating some festive looks with the palette and the glimmersticks together!

I also spotted this UH-mazing snow leopard throw...

Quotes: 'IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!!' (name that film ;))

Which apparently makes the perfect perch for displaying those beautiful items!

Ding Dong! Avon Calling!

Ever on the quest for microhappies, I thought I would share one of my oldie but goodies with you. I have a few new ones too but I'll share these at a later date :)

This may sound a bit 'fuddy duddy', but I absolutely bloomin' well love it when the Avon Lady (mine is called Sarah and she is tres nice) drops off the catalogue. I like to make a little time for myself (a good 15 minutes usually does the trick), sit down with a pen to hand in case I want to order anything and have a gooooood look at every single page.

I don't order something every time but I do keep an open mind when flicking through. This time I am ordering this really sweet 'Dana Bird Cage Necklace' -picture from avon website-. It's soooo pretty and for only £5, I figured why not hop on the birds-are-so-in bandwagon?

I always order liquid handsoap from Avon because they come in pretty colours and scents so I chop and change depending on my bathroomy mood. I also luurrvvee Avon makeup brushes (I use my powder brush every day. It's very soft and dense) and have an array of Avon lipsticks and mascaras. The best thing I ever ordered was about a year ago and I bought my watch. It's Morgan which isn't usually my style but it's black and sparkly and draws in a LOT of compliments. Perhaps I shall show you my Avon treasures in another post if it tickles you?

So bargainistas, I strongly advise you to have a look through your brochure next times it flops through your door or have a gander online. I really like the personal service of having an Avon Lady and having things delivered to my door. Most the time, by the time it arrives a week later, I have forgotten what I ordered and it's a wonderful little surprise. Sometimes Sarah the Avon Lady even pops a sample in with my order. A lllllloooooonnnggg while ago I was an Avon Lady myself and I know that it's not free to dish out samples so I always appreciate it when she does that for me.

So what do you think of Avon? Are you strictly MAC/Illamasqua/Nars/Clinique etc or do you ever opt for a more affordable brand?

TAG- 10 Most Worn Beauty Products

Welcome to my first official tag- how exciting! I was kindly tagged by the lovely Kathi (   http://mac-a-holic.blogspot.com/   ) to do this "10 Most Worn Beauty Products" tag. I know her blog is in German but she is fluent in English so if you wanted to leave a comment or question for her, I am sure she would be pleased and get back to you :)

So, here are my answers! I tag you all to do this yourself too, it's great fun!

1. most worn lipstick+lipgloss:

Soap and Glory Sexy Motherpucker in Perfect Peach. It is a gorgeous colour and leaves my lips feeling all tingly! zing zing!

I'm also a huge fan of MAC Dazzleglass (I have four of them) but I don't wear them as much as Sexy Motherpucker.

2. most worn eyeliner/kajal:

Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof eyeliner in black.

3. most worn nailpolish:

I rotate very regularly but tend to go for Barry M and Avon because they don't chip.

4. most worn eyeshadow:

MAC shadestick in Beige-ing/Mac eyeshadow in Carbon/MAC eyeshadow in Phloof! Haha I picked 3!

5. most worn concealer:

I don't actually use a proper concealer really. If I have a blemish, I pop a bit of Benefit Some Kinda Gorgeous on.

6. most worn foundation:

Maybeline Dream Matt Mousse in Ivory in the winter when I'm pale, Benefit Some Kinda Gorgeous if I have a tan (which is bloomin' rare I tell ya!)

7. most worn (finishing) powder:

Benefit Get Even

8. most worn blush:

I never wear blush because I have such pinkish skin but I have just bought Benefit Sugarbomb which is a bronzer/blusher.  

9. most worn bronzer:

MAC Belightful pressed bronzer.  

10. most worn mascara:

Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Curl (black)
