Beauty Review || Soap & Glory Lid Stuff

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

You know when a product surprises you and you feel a bit excited by it? That.

Soap and Glory has always been a brand that I have associated with lovely smelling lotions and potions, not staple makeup products. Until now.

This matte neutral quad retails for £10 (I bought mine in Boots) and has swiftly become one of my makeup bag essentials.

With three matte shades and one shimmer, this is the perfect product to create a subtle, easy day look. 'Pink T' (the shadow with the embossed words in it), is brilliant in the crease of your eye and 'Vanilla' (the cream) is fantastic for your inner corners and under the brow bone.

Mudhoney (bottom left) is also quite nifty for eyebrows too. I do love a bit of multifuntioning. Real word there.

I'm really pleased with how sturdy this packaging it and enjoy the clear lid that enables you to see what you have floating about your beauty stash.

All in all, this palette has a big thumbs up to me and I feel very confident recommending it to you.

Go forth and enjoy!!

Have you tried anything like this before? Would you ever switch from shimmers to mattes? I'm glad I did!

Lou's Reviews :: Soap & Glory - Original Pink

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

A few weeks ago now I treated myself to a new perfume and I thought I would share my reflections on it with you.

Fragrances are always such a tricky product to review, what with everyone's scent preferences being so vastly different, and it not really being a black and white case of, "Does it work? Did it do the job? etc".

Soap & Glory's Original Pink is a very affordable £16.50 at Boots and is also part of the 3 for 2 offer, so if you really felt wild, you could buy 3 bottles of perfume for £33- bargain!

The official blurb for this scent is, "a fresh fruity citrus with notes of bergamot, summer rose, peach, strawberry, gardenia blooms, jasmine, patchouli warm amber and lush musks." In my mind (or should I say, 'nose'?), this smells simply delicious. It's sweet but not sickly and feminine but not little girlie, it's total a winner in my books.

The packaging is metal, lightweight and unfussy, yet attractive enough to sit on your dresser with your other fragrant delights. Now, I'm all for a jazzy glass bottle with charms, jewels and flowers adorned, but this sleek little number is ideal for throwing in your handbag. You need not worry that it's going to smash all over your belongings and you won't feel like you're carting round a breeze block all day! Crikey, I even think it would fit in a going-out clutch! Also, as if all that hasn't made you want to go out and grab one for yourself, it does come in a pastel pink box with embossed text on it, so perfect if you need a gift for your best friend's birthday. *Makes mental note to buy friends this for their special days*.
All in all, I absolutely adore this perfume and am so glad to have found something that meets all my usually very strict criteria- great price, great fragrance, great packaging. I cannot rave about this enough and strongly recommend you give it a sniff (urgh, 'sniff' is such a vulgar word isn't it?) next time you pass it.

Have you tried this perfume? Are you as in love as me?

PS- Despite four attempts at resolving the issue, blogspot will not let me space my paragraphs correctly. We can put a man on the moon but can't get basic text right. Sheesh!

Lou's Reviews- Soap & Glory Sexy MotherPucker Trio Pack

Aloha Bloggerinos!

If you have been reading my bloggypops for a while, you will know that I do enjoy a bit of Soap & Glory now and again. However, with six million wedding things to pay for, I tend to wait for Boots to do a special offer before I treat myself.

Well lo and behold Boots had one such offer on last week (1/3 off) so I snapped up a little treat. I just had a looksie on the boots site and I'm afraid the offer is no longer. I bought this pack for around the £11 mark, but it is back up to £17.50 today. I figured that being as each single one is usually £8, £11 for three was an absolute steal!

Having tried Mother Pucker in Peachy Keen and XL Plump, I thought I would take advantage of the trio pack of colours that haven't graced my lips yet. Woop. So here we have it:

As always with S&G, the packaging is fabulously fun and eye catching. I like the envelopey/flappy feature- a good way to display info dontchya think?

The colours in this pack are (from left to right) Half Naked, Baby Doll and Plum Juice.

My favourite of course is Baby Doll but I do like the others too. They are very sheer so look great on bare lips for a subtle look, or you could have a layer over lipstick for a glamorous effect. I don't really think these glosses have a scent which I am pleased about because I am quite sensitive to smells and things like vanilla or lavender can leave me with headaches.

The texture is also very enjoyable, sheenyshiny but not tackysticky.

As with my Peachy Keen, they make my lips feel fizzy-tingly and all plump. It's not for everyone but I quite enjoy the sensation and would recommend you give it a whirl.

So all in all a good buy I believe and a welcome addition to my lipgloss stash.

Have you tried any of this range? What did you think?

Abby's Giveaway- Plumpy's Story

Aloha Bloggerinos,

This is my first competition entry (there will be two I hope) for the fabulous Abby's blog which you can check out HERE .

Abby is currently running two competitions and one is to say what your most regular essential can't-cope-without-it and there are brucey bonus points for pictures in odd places.

Sooooooooooooooooo my item is Soap & Glory Extreme Plump Lipgloss. This is a clear gloss that literally makes my lips fizz! They tingle and zing and in about 2 minutes, I have sexy full to the brim lips! Love it! I wear this on it's own, over lipsticks, or stains and I feel naked without it.

So for my brucey bonus points (what a geek I am), I took a few snaps of Mr Plump whilst he was on his jollies today.

Oh Look! Here is Plump with his pal Borjous Menthol Gloss at the office, gassing away on the phone. Get back to work Plumpy!!

After all that hard work in the office, Plumpy is in the car and off to beat the traffic. Safe journey Plumpy!

With all that office air con, Plumpy decides to get toastie on the disgustingly crumby toaster. Watch out Plumpy, you don't want to burn!!

Plumpy stayed on the toaster a tad too long and was in need of a chill out. Brrr chilly!!

All that chilling out reinvigorated Plumpy, ready for a bit of the great outdoors! Here he is with his garden friends Toady and Squirrel. Steady on Squirrel, Plumpy's after ya!!!

In line with his thrill seeking moment with Squirrel, Plumpy takes to the skies for a ride on the washing line. Woooosshhh!

Trying to impress Toady with your football skills Plumpy?! Play Ball!!

All that play and it's time for a wash on spin cycle. Don't forget to exfoliate Plumpy!

Trying your hand at running stitch? Well done!

It's a big climb, but it's time for bed.

Night night Plumpy, see you tomorrow. xxx

Lou's Reviews- Soap and Glory Sexy XL Extreme Plump Lipgloss

Aloha Bloggerinos,

As you will (I hope) have read, I have been on a Soap & Glory binge lately, because of the 1/3 off offer in Boots. Yay!

This is Soap and Glory's Sexy XL Extreme Plump Lipgloss, phewf, what a mouthfull! This retails at £10.00 but because of the spiffing deal, I picked it up for £6.67-woop woop! This is a tube of 10ml of gloss. Lovely.

Now, being an avid lover of the Sexy Mother Pucker glosses, this was bound to be a winner in my eyes. My only wish is that they would do more than just "clear" in the colour range.

The idea of the lipgloss is that it contains nanovectors and visivolume, as well as natural oils and collagen extracts, which all work together to plump, smooth and fill. And WOWZAS, it does!

I put this on in office, I couldn't wait to get home, and within about 3 minutes my lips had gone all fizzy and tingly. For some people this might be a bit much but frankly, I LOVE IT. It's the best (err, well not THE best-ooer misses) sensation ever! Not only did it make my lips feel amazing, it actually did make them appear a lot fuller. I thought it was just me that thoughnt so, but quite a few people commented. To be sure (now I'm gonna sound like a total saddo), I made my chum Jamie take a picture of my bare lips and then after 10 minutes of the gloss on, take another picture, and yes, there WAS a difference.

This lipgloss is easy to apply with the little slanted plastic nozzle, although I think if you weren't careful, it could get cacky. It is pleasantly unsticky and looks sheeny rather than gloopy.

(Grr sorry for the blurry pic)

The packaging is another winner for Soap and Glory. The box is jazzy and looks lovely in their signature colours- pinks, neons and silvers. The actual lipgloss packaging itself is sleek and silver. Personally, I would have liked to have seen a bit of pink on it but you can't have it all, eh.

I'm pleased that I picked this up on offer, but think that when it runs out I would repurchase it at the full £10.00 because I just love the tingly feeling- it really is like none other.

Have you tried this tingletastic lipgloss? What were your thoughts?

Lou's Reviews- Soap & Glory 'You Wont Believe Your Eyes' Serum

Aloha Bloggerinos, how goes it?

I have been very excited of late make-up wise, because Soap and Glory is 1/3 off in Boots and on the Boots website- woop woop! Naturally, as any beauty lover would, I took full advantage of this and stocked up.

One of my bargains, was this You Won't Believe Your Eyes Illuminating Eye Serum. This usually retails at £9.00 but because of the super offer, it came in at £6.00. This product contains 15ml of serum.

The idea of this serum is that it sooths and smooths puffy eyes, reduces redness and leaves you looking a bit more zippy ;). It claims to contain cellular boosters, concentrated cucumber juice and 'sesaflash' which is a skin tightening agent.

The unique selling point of this over any other eye roll on is the niftly little applicator. Rather than the standard one large roller ball, there are 3 mini roller balls and when you squeeze the tube, you can see them stretch up out of their socket and the serum ooze out a little. This pleases me! I don't know why I like to see it do that so much but I really do! Haha. If I'm honest, I'm not entirely sure what the benefits of the tri-roller are over a singular ball, but it does feel very, very nice. I am a little addicted to rolling it over my under eye now actually. Must stop this peculiar behaviour poste haste!

Now, I must say, this eye serum was a bit of a slow starter for me. I think I made a bit of a booboo when I first bought it because, im my excitement, I applied it at my desk at work and swiped it across my smudged (grrr) eyeliner and just made a grey smudgey mess. This put me off for a couple of days but after a little while of using this in the mornings, on a clean moisturised face, I started to warm to it. When first applied, it looks like a pearly, luminous fluid. I gently pat it in a little with my fingers and it soaks it quickly and easily. It doesn't leave a sticky or greasy residue and really does feel very cool and refreshing. It also helps me wake up too before I trudge off to the office.

I think it leaves me looking a bit more bright eyed and bushy tailed and feels sooooo luurrvvvlly to apply the cool fluid under hot, puffy morning eyes- yummo!

As always with Soap and Glory, the packaging is spot on. It's girlie, modern and makes great makeup box eye candy. The tube is also very appealing- sleek, simple and sophisticated. Well Done Soap and Glory!

I think when this runs out, I shall wait for another offer to repurchase it. I think yes, defo worth £6 but perhaps not £9. Although, saying that, I have only been using this a week, so the full results are yet to appear before my eyes- haha, see what I did there?!

Have you used this product? What do you think?

TAG- 10 Most Worn Beauty Products

Welcome to my first official tag- how exciting! I was kindly tagged by the lovely Kathi (   http://mac-a-holic.blogspot.com/   ) to do this "10 Most Worn Beauty Products" tag. I know her blog is in German but she is fluent in English so if you wanted to leave a comment or question for her, I am sure she would be pleased and get back to you :)

So, here are my answers! I tag you all to do this yourself too, it's great fun!

1. most worn lipstick+lipgloss:
Soap and Glory Sexy Motherpucker in Perfect Peach. It is a gorgeous colour and leaves my lips feeling all tingly! zing zing!
I'm also a huge fan of MAC Dazzleglass (I have four of them) but I don't wear them as much as Sexy Motherpucker.

2. most worn eyeliner/kajal:
Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof eyeliner in black.

3. most worn nailpolish:
I rotate very regularly but tend to go for Barry M and Avon because they don't chip.

4. most worn eyeshadow:
MAC shadestick in Beige-ing/Mac eyeshadow in Carbon/MAC eyeshadow in Phloof! Haha I picked 3!

5. most worn concealer:
I don't actually use a proper concealer really. If I have a blemish, I pop a bit of Benefit Some Kinda Gorgeous on.

6. most worn foundation:
Maybeline Dream Matt Mousse in Ivory in the winter when I'm pale, Benefit Some Kinda Gorgeous if I have a tan (which is bloomin' rare I tell ya!)

7. most worn (finishing) powder:
Benefit Get Even

8. most worn blush:
I never wear blush because I have such pinkish skin but I have just bought Benefit Sugarbomb which is a bronzer/blusher.

9. most worn bronzer:
MAC Belightful pressed bronzer.

10. most worn mascara:
Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Curl (black)

Do you use any of these? What are your thoughts on them?
