Pastel Hair Envy & Giveaway Winners

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Three weeks in and I'm still in love with my hair. Call me vain, I don't care, I can't help my feeling of hair joy. They are made all the stronger considering I was the child at primary school who's Mum put a bowl on her head and cut round it to make a nice 'style'. Back then I could only have dreamt of having swishy My-Little-Pony styled locks.

If you would like to know more about more new do, pop by tomorrow where I have a full, dedicated post scheduled.

pastel_hair
(Image. I must say, I've seen this image all over twitter and pinterest so I'm not sure where it originates from)

With my new found pink love, I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest (nothing new there then) looking at amazing hair ideas. From crazy complicated plaits to the most incredible dye job above, I've swooned over it. Where shall I go once I'm bored of the pink? Purple??

Pastel love aside, two weeks ago in THIS blog post, Pantene offered to giveaway 5 of their 1 Minute Wonder Ampoules to 5 lucky readers of Sprinkle of Glitter. If you see your name below, you are one of those lucky duckies.

If you can see your name up there, please email me on louise@gleamdigital.com with the subject, 'I WON THE PANTENE GIVEAWAY' and we can arrange your prize to be posted.

I'm rather enjoying these little giveaway treats and hope to make it a regular feature. I have something very exciting lined up for next week!

What would be your dream hairstyle?

(Oh good, blogger won't allow me to centre the above. Thanks internet)

My Hair History

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Brace yourself for some shockingly bad photos today. They're not with my lovely cannon and beautifully edited, but real life through the ages numbers.

Once upon a time, my hair looked like this:

Blonde and wispy and pretty cute, even if I do say so myself.

After about four years, it thickened, darkened and my Mother decided a bowl cut was what I needed.

Thanks for that Mum!

After a few years, I was allowed to grow my hair a smidgen into what Matt affectionately calls, my 'helmet hair' on account of it looking like it could actually be a helmet. So kind.

As you can see, neon was all the rage in the 90's!!

Fast forward 15 years and I had lost the fringe, grown it long and had an appointment with bleach.
Woop!

(Do excuse the red eye- I'm taking these photos direct from my personal FB)

Two years, a wedding, pregnancy and a baby later, and my hair was shorter and darker.

The above was when Baby Glitter was only 15 days old and she looks super surprised to see me

A year on and my hair is now long, with it's natural colour at the top and ombred (courtesy of my chummy Zoe, also photographed) blonde at the ends.

And there we have it, my hair history. Truly thrilling stuff.

I have recently been contacted by Cloud Nine about a really fun competition they are running where you can win a styling tool of your choice by telling them what your New Hair's Resolution for 2013 is.

After hearing about this I thought now would be the perfect time to share my plans with you and also a good chance to let you know about winning fabulous products (who doesn't like a freebie?!).

If you would like to find out more about Cloud Nine's competition, I shall leave the links below for you.

So for 2013, I'm thinking, drumroll please, BLONDE! Goodbye ombre, hello golden locks. I'm even tempted to pop a couple of pastels in there like lilac and pink just to be fun for the Spring/Summer. Living on the edge!

Now you've seen my hair through the ages, what do you think? Stick with the ombre or go for gold? I'd love to hear your thoughts!!

Lou's Reviews :: Enrapture Heated Rollers

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

I'm just uploading a video giving away a brand spanking new set of these Enrapture Heated Rollers (rrp £74.99) and I thought I ought to give you a little more of an overview into them. I felt the video was a bit energetic and perhaps you'd like a little more product info, so here it is, brace yourself, tehe.

Well, they got the thumbs up from Baby Glitter.

As you can see from the photos, this product is well packaged and everything (20 large and 20 small rollers) sits neatly in it's sturdy storage unit-you can also tuck the electrical cord in if you're feeling extra tidy. I don't have a great deal of space in my boudoir so I find it important to have easily tuck awayable products and tools. This certainly ticks that box.

I shallnae lie, I was a bit poopy at first because I was being a wuss and allowing the rollers to cool a little out of the stand before I put them in my hair (I hadn't worked out that if you just hold them lightly on the ends, it's OK) and so the curls weren't as tight as I would have liked. After a few more attempts, I found the knack and remembered the olden days when I first bought a pair of straighteners and how useless I was with those too! Haha, I looked a kin to Wersal Gummage, but thought I looked amazing- wrong! If at first you don't suceed, try, try again.

I love the way the roller is soft and cushioned so your hair doesn't become matted into it causing tearing and tugging (velcro rollers, I'm look at you) and that the butterfly clip to secure it has metal plates in to conduct heat through the to already heated core, making the whole thing warm and curl inducing. The website describes this as 'duo heat technology'.

This isn't something that I would be able to use every day because I have long thick hair and all forms of styling take me longer than most (hence my love of up do's), but I think if you had a more manageable mop, this would be a welcome addition to your bag of tricks as you can do so much with it- volumise, curl, create waves or give yourself that oh so sought after tousled look. The website suggests that this tool allows you to soften tight curls but having not tried it, I can't verify it. Perhaps I should try it on my sister and her natural corkscrew curls (lucky ducky).

All in all, I'm really pleased to have been sent this and even more please to be able to offer you the opportunity to win one and give it a whirl for yourself! Hop on over to my YouTube channel and enter!

Cruelty Free Cosmetics GIVEAWAY

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

A little while ago I was contacted by a lovely lady from Cruelty Free Cosmetics who very kindly offered to send me some goodies to give away to the super Sprinklerinos of Sprinkle of Glitter. I was planning on doing a 4,000 Follower Giveaway, but you crazy kids keep pushing that 'Follow this Site' button and I missed the number. Somehow a 4,088 Follower Giveaway doesn't have the same ring to it!

So, I kept it simple (can anyone else not say 'simple' without thinking of the compare the meerkat noise? I can't) and it is spiffing none the less.

As the name of the brand suggests, all products are 100% cruelty free and also vegan. They are free of parabens, preservatives and other harmful cosmetics, perfect for the uber conscious beauty addict. Natallia (the lady I have been speaking to) describes them as, "Safe for the Compassionate Heart".

I've been sent three beautiful colours for you to fall in love with- yours are in the seeled containers, I popped mine in the photo so you can see which colours you'd win- cos I loves ya!

The pigments are soft, bendable and perfect for the Autumnal season. I absolutely love the goldy pumpkinny shade, it makes green and blue eyes look exceptionally vibrant.

If you have a 'compassionate heart' and are interested in winning these gorgeous eyeshadow pigments, here's how you can be involved:

1. Follow my new Chatterview Blog (CLICK ME YOU CHEEKY CLICKY THING)

2. Comment telling me what your 'go to' eyeshadow colour is.

Simples! (there's that meerkat image again).

If you would like an extra entry, tweet tweet this little bit of fun and let me know in the comments so I can be sure to include everything properly.

I shall announce a winner in one week, Tuesday 8th November.

Happy Entering!

Lou's Reviews :: Sleek PPQ Me, Myself & Eye Palette

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Yep, as with all my posts for the next few days, I'm pretty late on this one. Florida and family life prevented me being as on the ball as I (like to think) usually am.

So without further ado, here is the latest Sleek MakeUp eyeshadow palette, just waiting to be added to your collection. Does anyone else collect the palettes?

Sleek's Me, Myself and Eye Palette is said to be inspired by PPQ's S/S11 collection and aims to toughen up a soft feminine silhouette- oh lala.

With a mixture of frost and matte and a wide variety of colours, you would think this would be a winner. For me it isn't. I'm all for lots of colour if it works, like in the original palette, but this seems all a little haphazard. Mint, red, peach and olive all in a row for example, there isn't a happy flow there, in my eyes anyway.

Also, (haha as if I hadn't finished being negative!), matte colours aren't my bag. I'm all for a bit of shimmer and I find matte colours can be pretty chalky with poor pigmentation. Saying that, there will be people out there in the big wide world, who prefer matte shades, so who am I to talk?

Some shmexy swatching for you there m'dears. I think the bottom deep green colour will look beautiful for Christmas.

Apologies for not going into too much detail for this beauty review, but I don't want to rave about something that doesn't float my boat and I'm not in the business of full on slating products. Beauty is only an opinion after all.

-----

In other news, before Baby Glitter pootled off to her cot for nightnighttime, she very kindly picked the winners for the OPI Mini Stems Kit Giveaway. If you have been listed below, well done!! Baby Glitter OPI Mini Stems Kit Giveaway

Aloha Mummy's Bloggerinos,

I recently spotted these pink and sppaarrkly kits in my Mummy's stash so I thought it was about time I made my debut blog post. What better way to start than with a Giveaway!!

Me and my Mummy are going to be giving away not one, but TWO of these beautiful OPI Mini Stems kits, containing 4 gorgeous colours, sure to make your grown up nails sparkle! I can't wait to be a bit older and for Mummy to paint my nails too :)

I asked Mummy to take a proper photo of the lovelies, before I got my tiny little hands on them. As you can see, they're not so mini to me!

You might have seen my Mummy made a video on these a few days ago. She luurrvvess them and has a kit herself!

As with all grown up people's giveaways, there have to be a few rules, so here are mine (I'm such an advanced baby!).

RULES:

As this is my Giveaway, it would be great if you could be a follower of my Mummy's blog. 1 entry.

Tweet a little something to say you have entered and provide a link if you're feeling generous and want to share the luurrvvee. 2 entries.

If you don't have twitter- you should! It's fun and free!  :)

That's it. Nice and easy is how we like it!

Eeeeee I'm so excited I lent up on my elbows to see who was tweeting about me and my giveaway!

This will be open internationally, and my Mummy and I will pick the two winners at random, when she get's back from her trip (in about a week) and I'm done being spoilt by my Grandparents! Please leave a little comment to let her know you've entered and how many times (ie. whether you followed and or tweeted!).

Wooohooo! Good Luck everyone! I'm going to go and have a snooze in my cot now, it's hard work being shamelessly exploited for my cuteness! Hehe!

*CLOSED* Sterling Silver Birds Giveaway *CLOSED*

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Not too long ago, whilst cruising round etsy.com in my imaginary virtual convertible (it's a mauve 1950's Cadillac with pink and gold sparkles in case your interested), I stumbled across the most charming little etsy store called Ivory Cove and instantly fell in love.

I was so intrigued by all the gorgeous pieces because they were unlike anything I had seen in highstreet stores and proper jewellery shops that I felt compelled to know more. Now I know that's a little odd, but I have a thing. I have a deep love for handcrafted items, no matter what they are. My Mum used to run craft fairs and make pressed flower arrangements and so I grew up around craftyness. I have seen how much love and hard work craftspeople put into their things and therefore I value the item so much more.

So, I decided to contact the shop owner and ask her a little bit about Ivory Cove on the planning that I would then do a little feature of the cool shop on here. Well, once we got to chatting, Taryn (Ivory Cove's Creator) said I could actually have one of the lovely pieces of jewellery to show all you lovely Bloggerinos! Yowzas!

Taryn used to make beautiful pieces of jewellery for herself and as someone who (like me) is a lover of all things creative, she decided to set up an etsy store to share her passion and make a few extra pennies. Currently she is a working part time as an Accounting Clerk, is also studying, is also a loving wife and is alllsssooo up to the eyeballs with orders for Ivory Cove. She is one busy lady!!

I'm so glad she finds time to make these lovely things because the birdy nest is uber cute and features throughout the store in silver and gold, on necklaces (like mine above), earrings and also rings. I've got my eye on the matching ring to this I think!

I've worn the necklace practically every day since receiving it which is quite unlike me as I like to mix things up every day, but I absolutely adore it, it's so unique and I've had LOADS of compliments on it too *smiles*. What was quite unusual though is that I had compliments on it from such a wide spectrum of people with different ages, tastes and even genders! I think this means this necklace would make a fantastic gift for someone.

It doesn't feel flimsy, doesn't turn my neck green, hasn't faded or broken (even when Baby Glitter tries to pull on it- naughty little glitterbug!) and looks great on my natural pale skin or with a fake tan. What more could you ask for? I think it helps that Taryn uses genuine precious metals because you really can tell it is high quality and not cheapy feeling at all.

I really hope Ivory Cove takes off and becomes a huuuggee success so that Taryn can devote all of her time to it and make more gorgeous blingy birdy treats for us all!

To say Thank You for checking out Ivory Cove, Taryn has very kindly offered you all the chance to win one of these amazing sterling silver necklaces too- Yippeeee!!

To enter is simple:

1. Hop on over to Ivory Cove and have a gander and the lovelies. With every item there is a Facebook 'Like' or Tweet button. All you have to do is Facebook 'Like' your favourite items.

2. Pop a comment below to let me know you have 'liked' something and what it was/what they were (I'd be surprised if you only like one thing!

3. One winner will be chosen at random on Wednesday the 1st of June and you will be contacted to arrange your beautiful prize. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS SO WE CAN CONTACT YOU.

This contest is open internationally. You don't have to be a follower of my bloggypops but I would love it if you were :)

Good Luck Bloggerinos! Happy Browsing!

CONTEST WINNER for Guess Baby Glitter's Real Name

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Can I just say, as I started writing this post a total palaver happened.

Baby Glitter was laying next to be on the sofa having a snooze, my laptop was on my lap, the window was open to let in a relaxing breeze and all was well in the world. UNTIL A GIANT WASP FLEW IN! I have a huge phobia of wasps and totally freaked out. I grabbed Baby Glitter and put her on my chest, covered her with a muslin square, shouted "Maaaattttttt!!!! Mayday! MAYDAY!! HEEELPPPPPPPPPPPP!! HEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!".

The wasp was zooming about like a kid on sherbet and I couldn't get up (my sofas are low, my vajayjay is stitched to bits and hurts) and so Matt ran downstairs and started wafting a cushion at the beast. I was shouting "Just get the Raid (spray that kills flies/bugs/wasps), stop angering it! GET THE RAID! THE RAAIIDDD!", he was waving a cushion about, Baby Glitter was confused in her muslin prison. Then he ran to get the Raid, leaving me defenseless against the now angry wasp and then came back and sprayed the little blighter to death. Peace is restored.

Phewf!!!

Anyway, Baby Glitter is 2 weeks old today and I thought it was about time I announced a winner for the contest.

Congratulations Gem! I have emailed you already to ask which shade of MAC Lipstick, Lipglass of Lipliner you would like, so please do get back to me ASAP.

I've actually got another contest coming up very shortly, with the prize being a set of Sigma Brushes, so do keep your eyes peeled for that!

Hope you're all enjoying the sunny weather and not being attacked by wasps!

Toodlepip!
