Aloha Sprinklerinos,
Brace yourself for some shockingly bad photos today. They're not with my lovely cannon and beautifully edited, but real life through the ages numbers.
Once upon a time, my hair looked like this:
Blonde and wispy and pretty cute, even if I do say so myself.
After about four years, it thickened, darkened and my Mother decided a bowl cut was what I needed.
Thanks for that Mum!
After a few years, I was allowed to grow my hair a smidgen into what Matt affectionately calls, my 'helmet hair' on account of it looking like it could actually be a helmet. So kind.
As you can see, neon was all the rage in the 90's!!
Fast forward 15 years and I had lost the fringe, grown it long and had an appointment with bleach.
Woop!
(Do excuse the red eye- I'm taking these photos direct from my personal FB)
Two years, a wedding, pregnancy and a baby later, and my hair was shorter and darker.
The above was when Baby Glitter was only 15 days old and she looks super surprised to see me
A year on and my hair is now long, with it's natural colour at the top and ombred (courtesy of my chummy Zoe, also photographed) blonde at the ends.
And there we have it, my hair history. Truly thrilling stuff.
I have recently been contacted by Cloud Nine about a really fun competition they are running where you can win a styling tool of your choice by telling them what your New Hair's Resolution for 2013 is.
After hearing about this I thought now would be the perfect time to share my plans with you and also a good chance to let you know about winning fabulous products (who doesn't like a freebie?!).
If you would like to find out more about Cloud Nine's competition, I shall leave the links below for you.
So for 2013, I'm thinking, drumroll please, BLONDE! Goodbye ombre, hello golden locks. I'm even tempted to pop a couple of pastels in there like lilac and pink just to be fun for the Spring/Summer. Living on the edge!
Now you've seen my hair through the ages, what do you think? Stick with the ombre or go for gold? I'd love to hear your thoughts!!
Toodlepip!
xx

I was thinking the same thing! I really thought the first picture was Baby Glitter!
DeleteMe too! I thought Louise had posted a photo of Baby Glitter! :P looking identical :D and adorable :) xx

ReplyDeleteThe last photo is absolutely stunning, and i think that one is my favourite hairstyle of yours - although I can definitely see you as a blondie too!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Baby Glitter looks the spitting image of Baby Louise! So cute! I'm sure she will grow up to be beauty like her Mummy too :)
Samya Says.. - my fashion and beauty blog - I'm a newbie!

Aww you and Zoe look beautiful in that last picture. I love your ombre hair! Blonde for summer would look lovely though :) xxx
ReplyDeletei think the blonde is so pretty on you! go for that, and if you hate it, its easy to go dark again :) <3
ReplyDeleteOoh I say go for the blonde, a change is always nice and I love the idea of the hints of pastels too, it sounds lovely! The very first photo of you in this post is so cute, and really like Darcy! Baby G really does look so like her mum :) xxx
ReplyDeleteAah haha this post is so much fun :D I love the pictures & love your hair at the moment :)
ReplyDeletexx
Oooh, blonde looks so amazing on you, it really suits you! :) Can't wait to see what it looks like when you've got it redone!x
ReplyDeleteI do love the ombre on you but I think a soft honey blonde would be lovely on you. Maybe an all over light brown first and then highlights to create a natural blonde? Oh I'm so envious. I'm too frightened to stray from my brunette barnet. xx
ReplyDeleteGo for gold! I think you look lovely with lighter hair :) I'd like to go platinum but my hairdresser has refused to do it because my hair is really thin :/ Girly problems abound.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is absolutely stunning! I love the ombre, I say keep it :)

Love your hair now! You should see some of the things my mum did to my hair when I was little, I also donned the bowlcut/helmet head. WHY did they do that to us!?! haha xx
ReplyDeleteAbby | Beauty and a Blogger
I think the blonde really suits you, go for it! xx
ReplyDeleteMy hair journey is very similar! I had thin, wispy hair, then thick bowl cut, then a very thick German helmet hair, now its looks and blonde ombre at the ends :) xxx Please follow me Louise! @katekickedme
ReplyDeleteYour hair is so lovely however you have it, you're so lucky! I'd love to see you blonde though... Go for it ;) xx

I can't believe how much you look like baby glitter in the first picture!
ReplyDeleteI love the ombre so I'd say stick with that for a while :)
http://meganshaelyn.blogspot.co.uk
can't wait to see you with blond hair and some pastel pink dip dye.
ReplyDeletexx
Oooh go for gold!! I LOVE pastelly lilac hair a la Kelly Osbourne. I wish I was brave enough to have it done. Xx
ReplyDeleteYou looked fab with blonde hair! Definitely go back to that, and you'd really suit some pastelly shades too - lovely or the summer :)

Baby Glitter looks so much like you when you were her age! I personally like the ombre but it's your hair, it goes without saying really but if you're going to go blonde please don't do it yourself, blonde box dyes never look good!
ReplyDeleteI think your hair in the last photo of you is stunning, and I think blonde looks really pretty on you as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd since i'm a blonde i'd say go for gold x
http://kimbo95x.blogspot.co.uk/
Blonde hair would soooo suit you! I'm excited to see how it turns out :) x
ReplyDeleteYou looked just like Baby Glitter as baby! Cute!
ReplyDeleteWow! go for the pastel colour Louise! There are hair chalks and hair sprays that you can use to test drive the colour before you commit to the permanent dye so you should try those out! :) xxxxx
ReplyDeleteBlonde looks great but i really like you ombre hair, i think you should keep it :) x
ReplyDeleteLast photo is absolutely stunning :)
ReplyDeleteHave ombre for now and in the summer go blonde :)

Ooh your hair plans sound fab and some pinky pastel tones would suit you to a t, in fact I'm suprised you don't already have candy coloured hair miss Glitter! :D
ReplyDeletehttp://www.rafflesbizarre.blogspot.com
I love these pictures. I think you should try something new, and dye your hair blonde. Even tho im inlove with your ombre hair. But whatever you decide im sure you'll look flawless. :))
ReplyDeletewww.larzall.blogspot.com
At first I thought it was Baby Glitter on the first picture. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I looked at the rest of the photos I immediately thought how pretty you look with blonde hair - so it's cool that you are thinking about dying them again (although the ombre really suits you as well)! :)
xx
Go for Gold! That picture of you is super pretty :) Although ombre also does really suit you!
ReplyDeletehttp://mimsmake-up.blogspot.co.uk xox
I was a huge fan of your short brown hair right after you gave birth. I love the idea of the blonde though also. Not really sure about the pastel however. Except on rare occasions I always see this as a kiddish thing to do. But you could be the rare occasion. You'll look great no matter what you do :)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are not bad at all! I actually loooove looking at old pictures for some reason. I also really love the way you looked with blonde hair, aaah what a stunner :D.
ReplyDeleteI've got a $100 Asos Giveaway going on. It would be great if you would join :D.
http://www.101fashionstreet.com/2013/01/giveaway-100-asos-gift-voucher.html
I absolutely love the ombre on you, I think it looks gorgeous! But blonde really suits you too! My natural colour is brown, and I had mine dyed blonde a couple of years ago, but for the past few months seeing yours and Zoe's ombre hair i'm in a dilemma! Can't tell you how many times i've watched your how to ombre video and contemplated doing it!xxx
ReplyDeleteu were such a cutie, no surprise that babyglitter is that cute as well!
ReplyDeleteThe infamous bowl cut & "helmet hair". I guess every child out there had that!haha
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your idea of going blonde again and adding some pastels to it! I was consideringdoing that myself but I used to bleach my hair for a long time and it just totally destroyed my hair :/
Well that's not very spectacular, you've always stayed pretty classy and on the safe side with your hair. I wish I had done that. Really. Haha. Regrets.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post Louise!!

ohh, the third photo brings back childhood memories.. I had the exact same haircut and apparently the same clothing style as well, haha.
ReplyDeleteI really love the blonde on you, it suits you so well! but the ombre hair is also very fab.
btw, Baby Glitter's look is priceless, haha!
My hair has changed so much over the years I wouldn't be able to keep track :s
ReplyDeleteYou look great as a blonde or a brunette! Love these pictures...especially the one with you and Baby Glitter. Precious! Can't wait to see what you decide to do.
ReplyDeleteTry blonde! Xx
ReplyDeleteLoved this! You look so much like your younger self! So adorable!

ReplyDeletei love your ombre hair!! x

ReplyDeleteYou could do a blonde ombre, dirty blonde at the top and lighter blonde on the ends and you could incorporate pastel colors like Lauren Conrad did here: http://images.cdn2.beautylish.com/11/07/22/ft_dd9c251ae58c3788a6ba176f441f8651.jpg

I love hair history posts, maybe just because I'm super nosy? As much as your ombre looks lovely, I think that "blonde for summer" is ALWAYS going to be a good look (although perhaps my 16 year old self with a head full of bright yellow locks would disagree with me there). I also had a pastel pink phase and it was a lot of fun, so go for it I say!
