Better An Oops | Motivational Monday | 2017 #3

Oh Hai!

Merry Monday to you! The best day of the week is Monday because it's a brand new chance to achieve everything you want and a fresh slate.

Last week I did a few new and brave things. I went for an appointment to see if I'm eligible for laser eye surgery (I am! Yay! I'll be having it done in March!), I had afternoon tea with Sophie Kinsella to talk books, babies and more AND this weekend I went to Spain for a night (more on this later)!

I'm trying out bravery. I'm trying out meeting amazing authors and having LASERS beamed into my eyeballs and jetting off with Darcy even though travel unsettles me because I've wasted so, so, so much time not letting myself go for things. My life is pretty amazing but I hold back a lot. Imagine what I could do if I didn't?

Imagine what you might do this week if you just said, 'better and oops than a what if?'. Think of the fun you'd have or things you'd accomplish!

This week I urge, when faced with a choice, say our Motivational Monday quote to yourself, give it a go and see what happens! I'd be interested to hear in the comments how you got on!

I hope last week gave you the inspiration to keep going with those resolutions you made nearly 4 weeks ago- I'm so far sticking to mine but it's not always that easy!!

Let me know in the comments and I'll see you soon!

Toodlepip!

xx

  1. This is going to sound disgustingly like a self-promo and I don't mean for it to be, but it fits perfectly with your post, Louise.

This year I am trying out YouTube. I have no expectations of being as successful as those I look up to (yourself very much included :D) but it is something I am passionate about and want to try. I started a blog this time last year and freaked out halfway through as I worried those in my real life circles would find it and judge me. I feel like doing these things is really cool when you have lots of people invested in watching/reading your content, but weird if no one really cares about it - hence why I want to keep it quiet until I have something to show for it. But I digress - I deleted the blog in May.

Here I am in 2017 trying again, because I couldn't shake the feeling that this is what I love and am passionate about. Every day I am scared that someone I know will find it and I'll be the laughing stock, but every day I am also filled with joy and pleasure at what I am doing. I was right. It is so fun. I love it so much. And it is the right fit for me. However scary it may be.

Thank you, Louise, for bringing this field to my attention. Thank you for showing me what YouTube is like. Thank you for igniting in me a passion for something I didn't even know about but realised I've loved all my life. Thank you for being a living example of bravery to me (I channeled your bravery well before I started YouTube) and encouraging me, without even knowing it, to chase after the things I am passionate about, despite the fact that I am in equal measure scared of them.

    1. Hello Ellie! I've felt the same for such a long long while - wanting to start a blog, a YouTube channel, anything, just to share what I had to say but felt so stuck and being afraid of what people might think. Eventually I started a blog in summer 2015 and although for a solid 6 months I barely had readers but I decided I'd keep going. Since then I've gotten to know so many amazing people through blogging and it's become such a huge part of my life, it was so so silly to hold myself back because of what others might think. I really hope your channel will give you what you want! :)

    2. I totally agree kittenish! Right now my goal is to simply get more views (reach more people) in each video than I did the subsequent one. And hopefully get one more subscriber before the end of January :D It's not about the numbers of course - more about wanting to share and engage with others - but the numbers are an indication of that happening!

  2. Hello my dear Louise ,
thanks to you I've started my blog, you are very confident , beautiful and successful woman. I'm not that confident but I'm learning from you, yes from you . I want to be successful in my life and don't want to be in the shadow of my husband. I know that you are very busy woman, but maybe you will find some time to read my blog and let me know what do you think, link to my blog https://perfectnotperfectwife.wordpress.com/?p=34&preview=true
English is not my first language so that blog is probably crap.

  3. Hi Louise! I am an American viewer/reader, married to a Marine and we live in Japan. Over the past year I have been contemplating starting a blog so that my family and friends can see all of our fun travels over here in Japan. I also have a 15 month old daughter and so I'd do little updates on her as well on my blog. I haven't started one yet because I'm a bit afraid of the judgment that can come with doing these sorts of things. I didn't really know that being a Youtuber or major blogger was a real thing until about a week ago when you came across my YouTube recommend videos.

Well I'm hooked!! I have watched quite a few of your videos *cough possibly too many* and have just scrolled through your blog...then this new blog post came up. Thank you for being you and being so encouraging! My husband is gone for his job over half the year and so I solo parent my daughter while he's gone. Sometimes life gets a little overwhelming but reading your lovely blogs about motherhood helps remind myself that this mommy is doing her best! Thank you so much for the reminder that I am enough!

I am going to start my blog tomorrow, as it's now 8pm and I've taken far too long to write this! Thank you so much! Keep being yourself! Also, I'm quite enjoying your new carefree videos. Being a mama/mommy/mum isn't all about being on your best behavior. You're a breath of fresh air.

  4. This week, I've thrown myself into high gear, and have written all my essays and finished applications to go back for my Masters degree! I'm excited to get back in the game and keep improving myself this year and beyond.

  5. Hey Louise,
As a person that is full of Oops because I don't usually say no to things, it is the best thing you can do! Seriously! My most happy days were those that were not planned and that you just go for it, without really knowing what to expect!
Bravery will make you very happy! Trust me!

  7. Louise - this was just the quote I needed this morning. I did something brave yesterday, it didnt have the outcome I was hoping for but I would rather that than wonder what if. I am a single mum of two girls and I love reading your blog posts and watching your videos. Keep up the good work - makes me feel less alone in some of the things I go through.

  10. I am so with you on this one! In fact, this year I have promised myself to be more "daring". I don't want to call it a resolution, as they never work, so instead I am trying to apply it to everything I do. :)

  15. I am going on a trip to Berlin in a couple of weeks, all my past journeys abroad have been full of panic attacks and crying but I'm going to brave it and try my hardest to enjoy it! People like you inspire me to try things like this even if at first I don't succeed, thank you so much 💕 xx

  16. This week I faced my fear of public transport and had a lovely day out in Brighton. It was only an hour long journey but it's all about baby steps. I'm also trying out bravery this year! In September I'm moving out of my childhood home and I know it's going to be hard but it'll do me the world of good (eventually...)

  18. My name is Terry: I was so tired of mistrust towards my girlfriend of three years. Even though we live happily some days but she still give me reasons to keep suspecting her. The problem is she likes older men and also finds it difficult to say no to a stalker, but we love each other and cant let go. I was really suffering inside for not being able to trust the woman I want to marry, I cant even forgive her for what she did August of last year for going on secret vacation with her boss.
As I share this testimony, my girl has finally changed after Dr. Wakina intervened by healing her for good. She was cursed by her step mother to live a wasted life. Nobody knew this, even her until Dr. Wakina revealed and freed her. We have been living in peace for three months now. The spell cast on her destroyed the curse within four days. I think Ive done something good that she appreciates once in our relationship.

  21. My life is devastated! I’m going through hell right now or from the past one month. One month ago,i broke up with my bf.We both were completely in love. But i started having some issues with myself. My mood swings were a lot to handle for him an that point i just felt the need to break up and so i did.And i hurt him to the core which i never wanted to.He kept on begging me but i didn’t hear.Later on he started avoiding me and kind of did everything as you said in your video.it felt bad.I always loved him but i had to break up.I regret breaking up so much. But after that he said no to me.He said he’ll never come back as he cannot put faith in me.I have tried my level best but he is adamant that he cannot trust me.Even though after i realised what i did.I changed myself completely.I dealt with my mood swings and now i don’t get any.He cannot trust me.what should i do?I love himand he does too but he says he don’t have that much courage to come back. one day in my office going through the internet i saw a post of a lady giving testimony on how she got her husband back,i also come across a blog site on how to reunite and get your ex back with a love spell it was really amazing to see this so i copy his email id on http://happyspelltemple.webs.com/ i explain my situation to him and gave him all the details he requested from me, he give me 3 days assurance that my boyfriend will come back after the spell i was so overwal to hear that so i just keep calm and follow up his order coz i really love my boyfriend and want him back. on the third day after the spell as he promise me, my ex call me also show up in my office begging me to forgive him and accept him back with out no delay, i lift him up with a kiss and was so very happy to have him back all my happiness was from Dr happy he is indeed a true man a father and a god sent. plz contact Dr happy on his email id direct at happylovespell2@gmail.com or call his mobile number on +2348133873774
