It's On! | Motivational Monday | 2017 #1

Oh Hai,

Merry Monday to you! I hadn't planned to write this blog post today because I thought I'd be short on time but here we are at 6.15am- amazing! Darcy is still asleep (I'll wake her at 7), Rocket and Zula are on my bed purring and the house is still.

(image originally from Pinterest but traced to this lovely blog. Not sure if it is there original or not)

I never get up this early but let me tell you, it's so good!

Normally, I wake up to my alarm at 6.50am and feel groggy for a good 20 minutes. In that 20 minutes however I do my bathroom things (loo, brush teeth, contacts, wash face etc), wake up Darcy, give her her clothes, get myself dressed and help her bathroom time. All that in 20 minutes and feeling like utter bin juice. Frankly, it's horrible.

Waking up 50 minutes earlier today though has allowed me some time to 'come round'. The slow start to being fully awake has been much more palatable when all I've had to do was snuggle the cats and put some warm socks on. I feel happy and relaxed and actually, really excited for my day and week. I'm feeling productive (hello, I'm writing this at 6.19am) and motivated and my spirits are high.

This week, I know this sounds hideous but trust me, why don't you try getting up 30 minutes earlier each day and allow yourself that little bit of extra time to come into the world and see if it makes a difference? Take that extra 30 minutes for you. Do very few things and relish them. You are important. You are worth your time.

I'm really looking forward to my week ahead and I hope you are too! Let me know in the comments what time you get up and how long it takes you to get ready- could you add more time in there?

You can follow all of my week over on Instagram.

Toodlepip!

xx

  1. I usually wake up for uni at 6:45, so I could wake up 30mins before and have time to possibly read a chapter or two of my book (and not feel like a zombie). Great idea! x

  2. What a great idea! Normally I consider getting up earlier a bad thing and choose to sleep as long as possible to get myself the rest I need, but I never considered waking up earlier as a method of being more prepared for the day when you set about doing your daily tasks. Thanks for the idea!

  3. So happy that motivational monday is back! Was just checking your blog without any expectations, but this made me really happy! Although I don't think the extra half an hour will happen this week. My alarm went on 6.20 this morning, for the first time sfter the holidays and that was already difficult enough haha

  4. Even with the best will in the world I already wake up at 5:30am when I am working (and even sometimes when not unfortunately). I save my down time for afterwards when I need it more.

Glad Motivation Monday is back. Have a good week Louise.

  5. I've heard your either an owl (you like being awake at night) or a lark (a morning person) and I've always thought I must be some sort of pigeon as I don't like getting up or staying up. Having said all that, I realised despite the struggle when my alarm goes off, I am more optimistic and productive in the morning. So now I give myself an hour and a half before work - 30 mins to ease myself up, 30 mins to get ready and breakfast and 30 mins to do something productive. So nice to then come home from work in the evening and you've already cleaned the bathroom!

  7. I tend to get up 20 minutes before I'm due to leave the house (so I'm up at about 6.40) and run around like a crazy person getting ready... this week the plan is to get up at 6.00 and go swimming on the way to work. Eeek!

  8. Due to ill health I don't have anywhere to be going at the moment but when I had been going to college I had to be up around 7 so would normally wake half an hour earlier just so that I was awake enough to do stuff.. Especially with the fact I would be driving!

  9. I've been trying to do that too, makes such a difference to how I feel by the time I'm heading to work. I haven't managed it everyday yet as I'm naturally a night owl so having to train myself! Purposefully didn't watch your weekly vlog yesterday so that I could watch it while getting ready this morning:)

  10. It takes me at least twenty minutes to wake up, so I usually get up when the dog wakes me up, make a cup of tea and sit in bed reading with my tea before the kids get up and start demanding breakfast and everything else. It's a beautiful part of the day x
    Happy new year Louise x

  11. I do this too! I always give myself at least half an hour in the morning to potter or catch up with the online world and it really does set me up for the day! x

  12. This really does help me! I always wake up super tired, no matter how long I slept the night before. Waking up a little earlier gives me time to fully wake up and be productive for the day x http://www.justsavxnnah.com

  14. It depends. On work days, it has to be at 4:00 am and I have to be out by 5:30 or 6:00 or else the horrors of traffic will be up against me. During days off, expect me to be in bed til noon. But in all honesty, I'm more of a night owl as creativity kicks in more during the wee hours of the evening. :)

  15. I get up at 6am on a work-day, I have to be there for 8am. I'm in my car and have set off by 7:50 at the very latest, but try to be nearer 7:45 - it's not too far away but on foot takes half an hour. I find that gives me plenty of time to get myself sorted as I hate being in a rush! I get up, go to the bathroom, get my makeup on, have breakfast and give the cat her biscuits and let her out, get dressed, let her back on, then go! I'm starting a new job next month which means I won't have to get up until 6:30, I'm excited haha!

  18. YES! love it. There is nothing I love more (well there are but for the purpose of this, you get me) is waking up early in the summer and sitting outside in the early morning drinking a coffee and embracing the day ahead. BUT I never do it during winter. I won't sit outside in minus degrees, my nipples don't need that shock first thing but I will try getting up early, making a hot drink and lounge on the sofa with my puppy for 20mins or hop back in bed and read a book for a while. I really like the idea of making time for yourself before you begin the day.
It was my first day back at work today, I began the school run by epicly (<is that a word?) slipping out my front door, I twisted my ankle, sprained my wrist and scraped my elbow, all without hitting the floor. I think I would have done less damage if I had just slipped and fell and not tried to save myself ha ha. So I will definitely be getting up super early tomorrow to loosen up my limbs before work because I have a feeling I might wake up a little stiff tomorrow!!

I hope your day continued to be a good one,
    Lots of love

  22. I always wake up 20 to 30 minutes before the time I need to, because it allows me to fully wake up before I get dressed, pack my bag and have breakfast. It makes me feel a little bit more productive and ready for the day ahead.

  23. Personally I am total rubbish at waking up early to spend time by myself, but on the days that I do naturally wake up extra early...I really do enjoy that extra time. There's something to be said about not starting your day in a frantic mess. Wishing you a productive week, Louise!

  27. In college I would wake up sometimes with as much as an hour before my classes in the morning to chill out, watch the news, and eat my breakfast! Now that I'm working full time though I wake up an hour before we need to leave which is just enough time to shower, get ready, make lunch for me and my boyfriend, and get out the door!

  29. My life is devastated! I’m going through hell right now or from the past one month. One month ago,i broke up with my bf.We both were completely in love. But i started having some issues with myself. My mood swings were a lot to handle for him an that point i just felt the need to break up and so i did.And i hurt him to the core which i never wanted to.He kept on begging me but i didn’t hear.Later on he started avoiding me and kind of did everything as you said in your video.it felt bad.I always loved him but i had to break up.I regret breaking up so much. But after that he said no to me.He said he’ll never come back as he cannot put faith in me.I have tried my level best but he is adamant that he cannot trust me.Even though after i realised what i did.I changed myself completely.I dealt with my mood swings and now i don’t get any.He cannot trust me.what should i do?I love himand he does too but he says he don’t have that much courage to come back. one day in my office going through the internet i saw a post of a lady giving testimony on how she got her husband back,i also come across a blog site on how to reunite and get your ex back with a love spell it was really amazing to see this so i copy his email id on http://happyspelltemple.webs.com/ i explain my situation to him and gave him all the details he requested from me, he give me 3 days assurance that my boyfriend will come back after the spell i was so overwal to hear that so i just keep calm and follow up his order coz i really love my boyfriend and want him back. on the third day after the spell as he promise me, my ex call me also show up in my office begging me to forgive him and accept him back with out no delay, i lift him up with a kiss and was so very happy to have him back all my happiness was from Dr happy he is indeed a true man a father and a god sent. plz contact Dr happy on his email id direct at happylovespell2@gmail.com or call his mobile number on +2348133873774

  31. Me and my ex-husband at all times have always tried to stay friendly over again after our divorce which occurred in early Jaunary this year. So i met with this spell caster called Dr aluda on the internet after a long search. And he told me everything that i needed to do, and he also assured me that he is going to reunite us in just 48 hours later after his spell casting. So he started his work on Monday 27th January . You are not going to believe this. He is back!!! Yes, he really came back in 48 hours just as you guaranteed Sir. Now I'm fully persuaded that you are a legit and authentic spell caster and your website is the best i have ever come across. This is so mind-boggling for me. Anthony is back!!! I haven't by any means experienced something like this before. Thank you so much Dr aluda. I never expected such a result. Dream come true. Wow! You were so kind with me. “And may your kindness float back to you like ripples that float back to sea shore”. Thank you Sir for your precious help. I have never been so happy in my life like the way i am today. You are a genuine spirit. You and your work will never be forgotten for making me a fulfilled woman and reuniting me and my ex husband once again.. You are my hero.. The kids are overjoyed to have their father come back home for good. Sir here i am sharing your testimony just as i promised. here is his email address: aludaspelltemple@gmail.com or call and whasapp him on +2348063930531
