Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

A few weeks ago the kindly PR people over at Guerlain gifted me with a far too generous goodie bag of gorgeous products to play with. To be clear, I'm not being a smug showy beauty blogger, just an excited like a kid at Christmas one. Hope that's alright with you :)

As any woman would, I have been thoroughly enjoying the luxury of these beauties and thought now is a good enough as any time to share one of them with you.

Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder

Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder

This last picture was taken slightly spur of the moment whilst I was wearing the bronzing powder. I had applied it about 6 hours prior and as you can see on my cheekbone, it is still going strong. As you can see from my jawbone however, my foundation wasn't! I know this isn't your classic 'beauty shot' but I'm hoping you'll all think, 'Oh how lovely to see the makeup in it's natural on-the-go form', haha.

So, onto the product. Let's all just stop a moment and rejoice in how b-e-a-utiful it is. When I have this compact in my handbag, I feel like such a lady. It's mature, sophisticated and luxurious, just like me -raise eyebrows here. Also, rather conveniently the palette is complete with a good sized mirror.

Retailing at £34 per compact (handy link HERE), this is definitely a high end item. With five different shades of tan ranging from dark to coral and luminous pearly particles, this powder leaves a gorgeous subtle bronzed effect with a hint of highlight. There are no glitter flecks, nor are you left orange, it is just a super classic bronzing powder.

If you were to use a light hand I think you could blend this all over your face to set your foundation and add a slight glow, but I prefer to concentrate it on my cheek bones to give a bit of a tanned flush. I love the pigmentation of this powder (not so crazy that you run the risk of looking muddy, but not so faint that you have to spend years with your brush) and I find it blends easily into my liquid or gel foundation and works well with other powders.

All round I am so positive about this sheer bronzing powder. It is an absolute pleasure to have in my makeup bag and I look forward to making the most of it this Summer.

What about you? Have you tried this product before? Would you spend £34 on a bronzing powder if it was really lovely? I'm always so interested to hear your thoughts on luxury beauty products!

Toodlepip!

xx

I think if I tried it and I really liked it it would be the luxury Christmas present or birthday present I would ask for at the moment just couldn't justify spending that amount of money on a bronzer

  15. The bronzer looks so nice! If I weren't hunting the Estée Lauder bronzer whose name just won't come back to my mind right now... The limited one in any case xD I'd buy it. I'm picky with my bronzers if I find one I really like, the price is okay with me. I totally understand everyone who thinks me must because of it.

  19. I wouldn't probably spend that much on a bronzer because I don't use them all that often, but I've spent that much on a primer and you don't even see that!! Along with the tinted moisturiser to go on top of it...so double that haha. Laura Mercier is just too nice! x

  27. It looks gorgeous on you! I don't love colour of the packaging, but that's a small issue! Handy that it comes with a large mirror, always prefer compacts that do! I usually spend around £25 on my bronzer/contour so maybe when I'm feeling extra luxurious I might give this a go! Thanks for another lovely blog post.

  35. A few years ago, I took my older sister makeup shopping and we picked out this bronzer together (the Terracotta one). To this day, she will not wear any other bronzer! Plus, she's become obsessed with Guerlain and won't buy anything else. Yes, it's expensive makeup, but it's well worth having in your makeup bag if that's all you're going to use.

  44. I don't think I could spend that on a bronzer... I am trying to find one that I like at the moment and Tanya Burr used one that I think I might get (Rimmel - I think? I can't remember) in one of her latest videos. It's A LOT cheaper. I'm going to have a look around, when I find a drugstore version I like I will be posting about it on my blog :)

  83. Heeey,Louise!
Atm I am using a bronzing powder from Inglot (the one which is all striped) and I kinda like it...I bought it when I was pale and it was very nice, cause it is nice shade and didn't make me look muddy...Right now I am tanned and I want smth more glowy...like this product, I am really thinking about purchasing it this summer (if I do,i will come back and write my thoughts about it). I prefer only high end make up items, cause I don't buy a lot and don't use a lot, so I go and buy rarely a treat for myself:) Thanx for the review, bronzing powder looks lovely on you, will go check it out later in the shop :)
