Aloha Sprinklerinos,
We have discussed it before but I am plus size. Fat, chubby, cuddly, bigger boned, call it what you like, the fact of the matter is I am a size 18 and feel relatively alright about this. As that lovable rouge Honey Boo Boo (google her) would say, 'I'm size CUTE' hahaha.
Lately I have been buying, wearing and LOVING midi length clothes. I find them to be so flattering and so comfortable (no worrying about thigh cellulite showing for me!) and also I find that I feel quite confident in them in a, 'I don't need to show off all my flesh to be sexy or attractive' way.
Navy Jersey Midi Dress - ASOS
Denim 3/4 Sleeves Jacket - Primark (last season)
Red Bow Belt - Primark
Gold Bobble Necklace - Accessorize
Coral Heels (Also worn HERE) - Newlook
I don't know about you but I find that I make so much more effort with my outfits in the Summer. In the Winter it seems to be just a matter of putting on as many clothes as possible but still being able to move, but now the warmer weather is upon us I feel like getting dressed is 'a thing'.
I absolutely love this outfit today. It can be dressy or casual and could take you from day to night (trust me, I've done it) and because the dress is cotton you feel like you are wearing jimjams! Also, since the dress (HERE) was only £25 and I have already had SO much wear out of it, I'm declaring it a bargain!
I wrote/photographed quite a few OOTD's last year so if you would like to take a looksie, here are some of my favourites ::
Family Picnic <-- 2010="" from="" p="">
What key fashion pieces are you loving this summer? Where do you find most fruitful to shop?
Please do let me know in the comments but a polite request- Please don't just write 'Amazing Post!' and then leave your blog link. There are repeat offenders of this that just write that on everyone's blogs so they can spread their link about, without even reading the post and it's rude. I'm all for leaving your blog as your signature if you have written a proper, relative comment because it enables me (and others) to find you and you're being part of the community, but please don't just spam and go. It leaves a very bad taste and only reflects poorly on you. There, consider yourself told off and behave in future- thank you!! x

ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous, the belt looks really good with the blue of the rest of your outfit!
ReplyDeleteLouise, you are the cutest!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Particularly the coral heels, ties in with the trend of bright colours but does it subtly! I'd love to do OOTD but all I have for photos is an iPhone and no full length mirror! Grrr! Haha and this 'summer' (since its so cold can we call it that!) I'm loving wearing shorts and tights but with boots so I'm comfy in the ever changing weather!
ReplyDeletebellasbeautyblogs.blogspot.co.uk
Wow you look amazing in navy! Also that dress really hugs your figure.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite clothing this summer are skirts. Either skater skirts or figure hugging tube skirts. I love printed or colourful skirts. Since I work in an office, I feel that you can pair a skirt with a nice jacket and still look professional.
Please check out my blog:

Such a lovely outfit! really liked the denim jacket with the navy of the dress. plus the coral just brightens it all up a bit. I can see how with flats or heels it could be very versatile. For summer I really am looking forward to wearing a few skater dresses! I love a good floral pattern but I also recently went out and bought a coral skater dress from top shop because the colour was just incredible. hopefully the weather will reward me and allow me to wear it a lot! Its going to be my first summer in the UK for nearly 10 years so hopefully it is nice!

Louise, you're wonderful! This outfit is so so cute.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely gorgeous. This outfit is perfection. Xo Candice
ReplyDeleteI'm always a bit funny about midi dresses but I think after this post I might have to give them a go again. you look really lovely in it and the coral goes so nicely with the blue. definitely a flattering kind of dress for anyone :)
ReplyDeletethis summer I'm loving blouses and skater skirts but I really can't seem to find the ones I'm looking for anywhere, but I'll get them all eventually!
thank you for your post, you look beautiful :)

A very lovely outfit! That dress suits you very well and the cute little bow belt is just a perfect detail to finish the look! I hope we will see lots more ootd's in the future, I love them!
ReplyDeleteLooking gorgeous as always Louise, this outfit is so cute! I love the midi length at the moment, and I also loved the skirt you were wearing in your recent Harry Potter vlog (also the belt is just the cutest thing i have ever seen ever)
ReplyDeleteI love that you're plus sized and you still take the effort to look great :') Where I come from (Singapore) most people who are bigger than usual don't bother to dress up, or give up trying to look good just because they're not a size 8.
ReplyDeleteLove the tinge of coral and red in your outfit louise!! I wish I could pull off midi dresses but I'm too short to find one that suits me:(
x
Gwyn
Lovely dress. What are the sleeves like?x
ReplyDeleteStunning as always Hun, love this dress on you. I'm a skater dress girl as I have wide hips and big bum but I'm happy with the size of my waist.
ReplyDeleteNot tried a midi dress tho but this is just the style I like navy and red look amazing together.

I love this outfit, Louise, and those coral shoes are gorgeous! I must admit I am the world's worst for living in my jeans or denim shorts in the summer. I love fashion but don't have the money at the minute to make some lovely summer purchases! I do however have a wardrobe full of summer dresses and skirts and I'm making it my mission to wear as many of them as possible this summer!

I think you look fantastic here. Size really does not matter and you look really gorgeous in that dress. One of my favourite places to shop during summer is fat face, I also like some joules stuff as well as zara accessories and h&m, I like lots of places though really - I'm quite fickle. If I see it and I like it - I'll buy it! xx
ReplyDeleteI need me a midi dress, alas Navy & I are not meant to be friends, I appear to have an intolerance to the colour! Love the length, midi dresses are my favourite for the same reason - the world does not need o see my butt!!
ReplyDeleteLook gorgeous Louise!
Xx

Midi dress!! It looks super good on you:) Actually, I think you really look thinner with the dress. I am in love with longer length dresses lately as well! I should definitely need to check midi dresses out :D hugs
ReplyDeleteYour blog posts always inspire me & motivate me a lot! Thank you☆

You are so beautiful and such an inspiration to us plus size girls, I wear a size 18 and have since having my little boy who is now 1 and a half. I have struggled to come to terms with my new body shape but seeing how amazing you look really inspires me to be a bit more creative with my style and proved to me that size is just a number. I love reading your blogs and watching your videos!
ReplyDeletexx
Morning Louise! I love this dress so much, it looks really lovely on you, especially paired with the Primark jacket. Now I want this dress & it appears to be sold out or ASOS is just being rude :(. Anyway, my favourite summer pieces are pretty printed skirts worn with black tops like tank tops & fitted plain teeshirts & a statement necklace. Also I love bold pink lipsticks in Summer! So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteS xo
You have amazing taste! Loves it! =] xx

In loving the midi dress look but I can't bring myself to wear one being very short legged... Maybe I'll give it a go though, I prefer the tighter ones on myself but this kind of old fashioned look, looks fantastic on you!
ReplyDeleteAlso I have the jacket it's fabby!!!
Have a lovely day xxxx
You look adorable, love the dress!
ReplyDeletei loooove the dress! and the shoes, and belt. and the jacket is a nice touch. Im faaaaar too broke to buy anything nice to wear for summer, so im still in my jeans and t shirts. any advice on how to class those up a bit? i want to still at least look like i've tried, because I am right with you on summer being the time to dress up and look cute and fun. anyway, love your outfit! You always look so nice :)
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit :) you look amazing and your blog just makes me happy haha!

ReplyDeleteCould you please do an outfit post? With different cute outfits for summer for someone who is a little bigger in size.
I love you so much and have a nice day! :) xx
Love, Victoria!
You look amazing! I'm also loving the midi, so glad it came into fashion this season :D

I love reading your blogs and watching your youtube videos they make my day !!! xx love you Louise :{) xx
ReplyDeleteYou ROCK this outfit! I think you're the best example of how plus size women can look absolutely stunning, and you don't need to be super thin to be beautiful! Your inner confidence is showing through and makes you even more beautiful than you already are. And I also love the outfit in itself :)
ReplyDeleteLisa x
I really love yout style! As a curvier girl myself, you are a great example of how to rock skirts/dresses and just be stylish :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The dress looks super comfortable. I'm actually wearing a dress from ASOS Curve right now & it's the most comfortable piece of clothing I own.
ReplyDeleteWe're coming up to winter in Australia but to be honest our winter is probably similar to your spring/summer so I'm still rocking a dress and cardigan!
Erin ☂
Hi. I'm from Poland and I watched all your video. I love you so much. You are a such inspiration. Check out my blog http://thickmadame91.blogspot.com/. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning in that dress! I also make more of an effort in the summer, I have a feeling that once it warms up (or if it warms up) I will be living in midi dresses!
ReplyDeleteHttp://glittertips22.blogspot.co.uk
That dress is so flattering for your figure! I'm the complete opposite to you, a teeny tiny little thing so I'm more of the skater type. This summer I really want some lace shorts. I saw some in Camden Town Punkyfish (I would never have expected to go into Punkyfish!) but they had sold out so fingers crossed for online!
ReplyDeletewww.laurelslittleplace.blogspot.com
I've never really considered wearing a midi dress, but i definitely will now! I also love the coral and nave combo, you look gorgeous Louise :) x

You are looking lovely and making me want to buy a dress which I tend to avoid (I'm same size as you)
ReplyDeleteSugarpuffish Natural Blog
You look fantastic! I'm a size 18 too and not overly happy about it as I've always had weight issues but it's getting better, and reading posts like this about women who are comfortable being bigger is really helping me to feel ok and also giving me tips on dressing better obviously! :-) x
ReplyDeleteAww the dress is so lovely! I am also a 'cuddly' person and it flatters you so well so I may have to order that dress! I really hope tht they do other colours!! Anyway, you look stunning :D
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is stunning! I'm also a lover of midi dresses and skirts, as they are so flattering and so comfortable to wear. The colour of your nails is also really pretty <3
ReplyDeletehttp://hannah--belle.blogspot.co.uk/
Love your 'spammer comment'. You do look amazing in that dress - it is SO flattering! Summer, what summer - wore black tights yesterday it was so cold! I have shorts, and thinking of making a sewing of vintage style ones, wider at the thighs - more flattering? Otherwise online shopping all the way, I have soft spot for zara and mango!
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely in that dress Louise, navy really suits you :)
ReplyDeleteAlice x
I wish I could pull off midi skirts, but my legs are so short they look super stumpy (its a hard life being fat and relatively short) i love your hair in the photos though, im finding that a whole outfit can change when you switch the jewelry and hairstyle up a bit. I'm really loving see through (i literally just woke up, i cant think of words) shirts at the moment, primark just keeps giving and giving ;) and also heeled black ankle boots because they make all my outfits and me look classier than i/they actually are ;)im really loving bright nail varnish too, last month i stocked up on pastel colours only to find im having no use out of them, oops (im actually wearing bright pink at the moment like you are). (sorry for writing an essay) x
ReplyDeleteLouise you look gorgeous! This dress is incredibly flattering and suits your figure perfectly, I love it! xo
ReplyDeletemiss-tilda.blogspot.co.uk
This outfit looks amazing on you! I have really been loving my skater skirt, it looks good when its a but colder as well because I just put on some black tights!xxx
ReplyDeleteI think we have the same denim jacket!
ReplyDeleteYou really suit that dress, you look so pretty and the bow belt is so cute!
This summer i've been loving my patterned denim shorts! I wore them so much when I was on holiday just wish the weather was warm enough in the UK!
As for shopping I've recently discovered Forever21 and I'm loving their stuff!

Hi Louise,
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about messaging you to say I had been having a nosey at all your outfits recently, as I am also a size 18, but shy away from many clothes or accessories I love as I just don't think they will suit me. Then I noticed your style, love it and it really suits you, so without being super stalker like I have been having a look at your posts and videos to check out your outfits.
I went and got the coral waffel like material dress you got from Primark the other day and find it really flattering, so thank you for the inspiration and please keep posting the OOTD. :)

http://jadewiggins09.blogspot.co.uk/
That outfit is so flattering! You do not look like a size 18 at all! Those midi dresses give you an amazing shape and I love how you have added the coral/red into the dress which gives it a great contrast!
ReplyDeleteLouise, why are you so gorgeous? This dress looks amazing on you, I personally find it very hard to believe that you're a size 18 ;)
ReplyDeletestylesequinsandstripytights.blogspot.co.uk
You look amazing n that outfit, looking back from your pictures last year I don't know but I feel like you look more "alive" now - think its the blonde hair. It works so well on you! I love midi dresses (not so much skirts though) but I'm only like 5ft 4 and I feel like they would look awful on me and make me look like an old person which I'm not haha.
ReplyDeleteI love the trend of smart/denim jumpsuits and play suits, I own a couple of play suits but I feel like they really reflect my age - 16, (not in an indecent way) but I want to try and make myself look more smarter. Topshop do amazing ones!
I really like your outfit of the day posts, you can make any outfit look immaculate on you.
Have a nice day!!!!

I'm not a skinny mini so this look is handy to know that it will cover my wobbly bits lol. i like my legs from the knee down as i'm top heavy..but i'm really small so i think i could get lost in a midi dress lol. but it is fab on you,And your confidence shows so if you have good confidence wearing an outfit like this i'm pretty sure i would too :) loving the cute belt/colour of the dress btw. ReplyDeleteI've not tried the midi dress length though, I think I might have to venture out of my comfort zone a bit :D that belt is adorable <3 <3 xxx

Wish I could pull of midi dresses and but as midget who also looks a bit young for her years (ie I look 15 when I'm actuaklly 18 waahh) I always look like I'm trying to play dress up if I try and wear clothes that are "grown up" so to speak so I'm still stuck in minis and maxis. You style the dress so well, it looks perf on you!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for mentioning those spammers, eeekkk it's so annoying!

ReplyDeleteIt looks incredible on you, I just hope it looks as nice on me too :)
I love your style and confidence, it's truly admiring :)

I like wearing denim jackets over dresses in the summer too! They're just great for when it's middle-y weather that we get a lot of here! Plus they just go with everything. I like wearing mine over the £5 primark skater dresses they are selling at the moment (and most of the time a pair of leggings too lol!)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant post, I'm always excited to read your blog!
You look gorgeous! Also, don't know if this is going to sound rude or not but I really thought you were about a size 14 - you definitely know what suits and flatters your body! Thank you for showing that you don't need to be a skinny minny to look fab x
ReplyDeleteI think you look absolutely gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteI am so boring when it comes to wearing bright colours together (like your blue and coral which look awesome) but everyone seems to be doing it and pulling it off! That dress looks like it's so versatile I can easily see the day-to-night thing. Pretty as always!

But it looks so fab on you that I might have to give it a try, there's definitely a benefit of not having to worry about your skirt blowing up and flashing your knickers at everybody! I love all your posts at the moment, you're definitely on a roll!

I'm a size 18/20 also. It's only recently that shops like Primark (I remember when they introduced the size 20 and their sizing was so tiny!!) and New Look have started making 'plus sized' clothing that is actually flattering and in trend with other styles instead of being like, "meh, you're fat, you can have this potato sack because you don't need fashion". Which is why i'm still in the process of accepting this and pretty much buying ALL clothes that fits me and looks good, regardless of if I need it haha:) love your outfit, it looks amazing on you! Don't think it would look quite so good on me, will have to test it on my next shopping trip to Primark in Bristol, yeeee!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely dress! I am currently obsessed with maxi skirts - Planning on buying loads for the evenings I am on holiday and for BBQs and basically any excuse to buy one or five!

I've never really been a fan of midi/maxi clothing. Whenever I go into primark or new look I just walk straight past them but this outfit looks so nice I might have to go try a few. I never would've said you were a size 18!
ReplyDeleteDo you know if Primark still have that denim jacket in? I've been looking for one and I really like the one you have:)

Lovely dress! I'm into the 1950'2 styles at the moment, also good for girls with a bit of curve to them and so flattering (plus you get to wear a petticoat and twirl, how cool!) Your hair is also looking really rather luscious as well! Totally agree with the spammer comment - had a few of them and it is so frustrating as you know they haven't even bothered to read the post!

Lovely! I'm a big fan of midi dresses too. They're so flattering - especially when cinched in at the waist with a belt. And I mainly shop from ASOS. I find that they're really great in terms of simple items that can be styled with more of a vintage flare.
ReplyDeleteSo many shops sell short dresses and skirts which I don't LOVE on me but ASOS do a great job at catering to both short and midi dress needs!
Beautiful as always!

ReplyDeleteOh wow, you look great, Louise! Especially in the first picture, SO godd =) I really love the different shades of blue with the pink shoes. It's not something I would go for I think, but on you it is so fab - perhaps I'll give it a try because of you.

ReplyDeletei absolutely love this outfit! i've been loving midi dresses too as i'm not quite ready to get my legs out properly yet. i have a lovely striped white and navy one which works great for me as it balances out my broad shoulders. it was only £12 from matalan and therefore i must declare that it is an even bigger bargain than yours! haha! similarly to you, i wear it with my denim vest- twinning or what? finally, love the pops of colour you've added to the outfit! it makes you look even more fun and fabulous

First off, I love this outfit.
ReplyDeleteI love the denim jacket with it, and I can totally see how small changes could change it from night to day.
I don't own many midi things, but this post makes me want to looks for some more!
Secondly, I love that you came out and said this about the spammy comments. As a blogger myself I love reading the comments to see how a post has gone down, or what other people think.
It takes time to take photos and think of what to write etc, so when you get lovely comments from people that have actually taken the time to read the post it's really lovely. Just as the spammy promo comments are kind of disappointing when youve worked hard on a post.

Love this outfit especially the denim so it is girlie and edgy. My staple for summer is peplums because my area of default is my tummy and they are great to hide it.It also means I can eat nandos all summer long if I want to. And as always Primark is my mothership calling me home, I always try other places but they never compare to the cheapness that is primark.

The navy colour really suits you and the dress is so flattering, you look gorgeous :) I have that denim jacket too, I love it for summer...good old Primark!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I prefer Winter for dressing though, I love putting together outfits with all the layers. I do love summer style/fashion and all the clothes look lovely, I just don't love getting my legs and arms out which can be a problem when its very warm lol.

You are a beautiful person and an amazing role model everyone should look up too, I absolutely lokve that dress and I think you alwats look amazing. Ps please come and live in my cupboard and do my make up for me everyday? pwease? x

I am loving sleeveless denim jackets and also sheer long sleeve shirts. I love the midi look, but since I'm quite short I feel like it makes me look shorter/stumpy. Anyone else have this problem?
ReplyDeleteadashofk.blogspot.com
I am the same size as you and wear very similar style clothes... I have slowly being getting into midi length dresses and skirts but i NEED this dress in my life!
ReplyDeleteLooking beautiful!

Louise I love the confidence you show. You're posts really make me smile! My key pieces this 'summer' is peplum tops/shirts, as my hips are my widest part, so why not make them look like they're 'meant' to be wide.
ReplyDeleteIt's so refreshing seeing someone happy with being bootilicious, and not trying to conform with what the media has portrayed a perfect slim figure!
You look beautiful

I LOVE the coral heels! Coral is definitely one of my favourite colours this season! Your confidence has really inspired me as i am a 'curvier girl' too! Lately i've been loving wearing high wasted skater shirts with a crop top, this time last year i would have been to scared to wear that!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog/videos and your attitude towards both! You seem so lovely :)

Aww you look so gorgeous! :D xx
ReplyDeleteI love this dress, it really suits you! I love the colours you've put together too, especially the navy and red.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with what you said about making more effort in the Summer, I do the same! Although I do love layering clothes in the Winter...
I have a similar looking skater dress that I can't wait to wear this Summer!

you're so pretty. the dress looks fantastic on you. the little belt is super cute, love it! the colours of the outfit match together so well. you really have a great style!
ReplyDeletehave a nice day ♥
you look gorgeous Louise ! x
ReplyDeletethis dress really suits you and that belt is very cute:)
I always feel dumpy in dresses but I am thinking adding the skinny belt in a contrasting color might fix that issue. Beautiful! I'd love to see more OOTD posts.
ReplyDeletePlease can I look this good? The dress looks STUNNING on you and to be honest, are any of us really that surprised? No matter what you always seem to be smiling and trying to make the best of things. This means no matter what you have on (even though that outfit is beautiful) you will shine. Please stay like that and keep inspiring teens like me!

ReplyDeleteI love midi dresses and have had a bit of a midi splurge recently, they are so flattering and are so so easy to dress up and dress down. I've found that Dorothy Perkins have some lovely midi things in at the moment.

This was such a nice post. I've been reading you blog for over a year now, and think your writing just keeps getting better! I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I wear the same size as you. I find that it can be hard finding pieces that are flattering sometimes, and you always give such good suggestions. I really enjoy these Plus Sized OOTD's because you show that plus sized women ARE beautiful and can dress stylishly. Thank you Louise!

Love the pop of red and coral of the belt and shoes :) So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm curvy with major bingo wings, is there anything I could do for hot summer days? I'm VERY uncomfortable with short sleeves and tank tops...
LOVED this post, defiantly inspired me to go out and venture into the world of midi dresses! xx

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that a midi-dress looks absolutely gorgeous on you.
Whenever I see a dress like that in the stores I think 'I can never make that work' but you definately made it work. It looks amazing.
Bye
You really look good in dresses. I myself am not a very dressy person, more of a jeans and sneakers type, but u inspire me to wear more dresses. And you have an amazing fashion sense. Keep on going! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you in brace your curves! Your gorgeous, and a inspiration to curvy girls! I think you should start modelling? You would do wonders to plus-size clothes!

Looks gorgeous on you! I have been loving maxi skirts this year, great for covering up my flabby legs! haha

That dress looks really nice on you! I just love dresses for the summer. I always think it's funny when people think they are so dressy...but I think they are WAY more comfy than shorts or jeans :)

What a lovely outfit! It's so flattering and super cute too! I also like my fair share of midi skirts, I bought a lovely coral one from anthropologie not that long ago. As far as summer clothes, it's pretty much what makes up my wardrobe because I live in south Florida so I don't have to add too much when summer officially comes around (I say officially because it is basically an unofficial summer in Florida all year round). I actually just did a post on summer trends I'm loving like crop tops with high waisted bottoms and pastel colors with the occasional bright!

Louise, you look stunning in these pictures. I wish I had your confidence! Being a "curvy" girl, I often feel like if I wear anything that shows slight cleavage arms or legs that I am being scandalous and it makes me super awkward. Weird, I know but seeing your confidence really inspires me to dress the way I please. thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely & lady like Louise! I really like this dress, think I might have to add it to the shopping cart. I might ditch the belt and chuck on a pair of vans to make it lazy. Have you tried a more body con-ish fit for a midi skirt, the length is great! x
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! I love you for saying that its rude, as it is!
ReplyDeletebtw. I love the belt!
http://majotron.blogspot.co.uk/
Louise, you look lovely! I am really enjoying your hair in these pictures, it looks all lovely and swishy and lion-ey? Perhaps like a mane would be more appropriate, just all swooshy and pretty.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your outfit. I'm a bit of a midi-dress-aphobe. I always feel that my little legs are too short to just go for it but you know what, I may just be brave and branch out and give one a go after this. You actually remind me of a modern day Dorothy, of the Wizard of Oz variety- I know she didn't wear denim and the like but the blue dress and the shoes, there's no place like home.
It's all just lovely and even though it's not overly sunny in the background, you radiate sunshine.
Hope you're well!

I love this outfit sooo much Louise! You look stunning, it's really flattering :) xxx
ReplyDeleteYou are a size fabulous! I think I have the same belt in black. Dresses in the summer are ideal! They are simple, quick to put on and very breezy which is much needed for those hot hot days.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm too short for midi dresses, they just sit at an awkward place in my legs and end up making me look even shorter :( I love maxi dresses though. I suppose just like your gorgeous dress it's easy to throw on and dress up or make a bit more casual. xx
ReplyDeleteAw Louise I love that you are so comfortable with yourself. It doesn't matter what size any of us are as long as we are happy with ourselves and are confident. That is what makes people beautiful (1D!). This outfit is so cute. You definitely know how to work it girl!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous Louise! Everyone should be happy with what they wear, your such an inspiration for the younger generation! LOVE this dress! xx
ReplyDeletei LOVE how you embrace your curves! You always look amazing and know how to dress for your shape! Love it!

Such a lovely style you have :)
ReplyDeleteMidi dress looks gorgeous on you, Louise! I really like your style and thank you for sharing it with us! xx
ReplyDeleteThings I am loving this summer are any and all dresses, and an updo. It is appropriate everywhere, lady like, goes day to night, makes getting dressed in a flash easy, my hubby loves it. I take a dress, sling my hair up into a french twist or a bun or a braid (quick quick quick, he is telling me we are late and hurry!) and throw on some Seychelles Wedges and am out the door. We live in the real world, my outfits need to come together quickly and be flattering, no time to putz around usually.
ReplyDeleteYou your dress and you belt is awesome, nice, fabulous. You look gorgeous in these womens apparel and i have no more words to says on your appreciation. These clothing are really nice and cute.
ReplyDeleteI love midi dresses! They are a perfect length. You look lovely!

ReplyDeleteI've ordered so many dresses from Misguided for my going on holiday next month! Really high quality for the cash and lord knows I love a bargain! They sell a whole range of midi dresses in a array of colors! I've found H&M have a lot of things that compliment us big boned girls. You're an inspiration Louise you really are, you say it how it is and have really helped me gain some self confidence. You always look stunning and really dress to compliment your shape, not a blog post I don't enjoy.

ReplyDeleteSo far this summer I've been seriously loving this (http://www.torrid.com/torrid/Clothing/Dresses/Maxi//Black+Crochet+Back+Maxi+Dress-500413.jsp) dress from Torrid, which is an American plus size store, which I happen to work at. It's so comfortable and flowy that I wear it to work, out with friends, walks on the beach, and just to lounge around the house sometimes. While the price is a bit much, it's one of those dresses that just make you feel so good. And they always have promo's going on. And I love just throwing on a jean jacket with the sleeves rolled up or a colored cardigan and some cute black sandals.
ReplyDeleteMaxi's are my summer must. You can just throw one on and go. You don't have to worry about much else. It's the perfect go to outfit for a lazy gal like me.
xxx
At the moment I'm loving maxi dress'/skirts... I've just ordered a black one! I think the red bow belt you're wearing here would go lovely with it as well :)

I agree with you about what you said about how dressing in the summer seems more exciting/important. I really want to get a maxi dress or skirt, but as I am a still growing, it is hard to find something that looks the right length. I do love a good skater dress nonetheless!

Hey Louise, you look absolutely amazing in the midi dress, I am living them at the moment however due to the fact I am incredibly short I can't really pull then off:/ I think you dress so so well and always manage to look classy in flattering outfits:) this summer I am totally into high waisted denim shorts and skater dresses:) totally love your blog xxxxx

Awesome Dress! I am about the same size as you and I feel midi dresses are so much more flattering than any other type! I love what you've done with the jacket... it will be a little too much for the hot indian summer so i'd throw on a lightweight shrug :) Now I just have to find a similar dress in India... are the fashion Gods listening?
ReplyDeleteGosh, that was too much about me...! I have to mention though that there are verrry few people who are so accepting of their bodies in plus sizes... i am constantly irritated by slim bloggers saying 'this makes me look fat'... reading your post was such a refreshing change... i hope you keep doing more OOTDs!

This dress looks really lovely! I followed your link and brought one in green. Hopefully we'll get some summery weather to enjoy wearing dresses this year. It's been dreadfull so far.
ReplyDeletehttp://misfitxtoy.blogspot.co.uk/
Never thought we were the same size, at all! you always look so amazing! I find it really hard to find nice clothes that look good on a size 18 body like mine and aren't over-priced. Usually end up buying clothes that are baggy enough to hide the worst bits, but don't do much else, hence, I now have a wardrobe full of crappy clothes. I used to really hate going shopping, too, because of this. Haven't even worn a dress since my friends' wedding 3 years ago, but this looks absolutely lovely! I think I'll put more effort into trying to find shapely clothes, seeing it is possible in a size 18! :)
ReplyDeletehttp://thelifeandtimesofsuth.blogspot.co.uk/
Louise, you look absolutely beautiful! That dress looks gorgeous, I love simple dresses paired with denim jackets, it's such a nice summer look :)
ReplyDeleteI'm all for loving silky cami tops this summer, although I do find that I have to buy a size or two bigger than I am because I'm rather big boobed and they just don't stretch! Haha! I haven't ventured into the midi dress world yet, I'm a bit worried I'm too short to rock it, but maybe I'll just whack on some mega heels and give it go!
Great post, as always x

Love this look! You look so pretty. The navy is a great colour. From a fellow plus size lady I feel your love your a midi length. Xx
ReplyDeleteUh literally, you dont know how refreshing it is to see someone 'plus size' as you put it, the blog world is full of lots of skinny minnies who are perfect in their own right, but us larger ladies need fashion inspiration too :D So thankyou very much louise! Im a chunky-er lady myself, 'a plus size' 'big boned' and the list you reeled off! You look absolutely wonderful, this dress shape couldn't suit you more!

ReplyDeleteI love midi dresses! Being petite, I find that maxi dresses seem to be made for six foot models, so midi seems to be the perfect length :) I think you look gorgeous Louise!! With regards to shopping for midi dresses, my favourite places to go are new look, republic and miss selfridge :) xxx
ReplyDeleteI really do love these types of posts from you Louise! It's great that you're not afraid to share things like this with your viewers. I am also a size 18 so it's lovely to get outfit ideas. I totally get what you're saying with the making more effort in the summer! I think it's because there's so much you can do to an outfit in the summer. Playing around with bright colours and accessories! Winter not so much! I'd love to see more outfit of the days for summer!

You look so cute, Louise! I'm chubbs, too, and I actually find it difficult to wear dresses, I always feel like I look bigger in them .////. I have yet to find a dress tht I really love and feel attractive in. I love this ensemble, the mix of light and dark, it's wonderful!

Love the look casual and chic! Love the denim jacket paired with it too!!! The royal blue is such a rich color it makes you skin look beautiful!! Also ladies ASOS runs there size bigger than original because when I order a dress from there I am a size 18 and its way to big on me. So the perfect size is 16. Just a tip!
