Aloha Sprinklerinos,
Not too many weeks ago, Matt, Darcy and I took a little trip up north to see friends, work on new projects and spend some time in our most favourite city in the world.
In case you're new around here, Liverpool is where I went to university and Matt is from, so it's where we met, fell in love and well, the rest is history.
Darcy's natural alarm clock is pre-sunrise but when there is a water front view, who can blame her?
It was still exciting post-bath and sunrise. Simple things.
I mentioned before in THIS post but I adore being in the city. I feel one hundred percent at ease and myself in this place.
Orange juice and crayons for brunch.
And of course, croissants.
No no, I haven't secretly had another baby, this is my friend's most beautiful little dreamboat. I could just cuddle him forever and ever. Darcy on the other hand was less than thrilled with having Mama's attention shared.
Little trips like this are what make life so very sweet and taking the time to photograph those memories makes them all the sweeter.
Do you have anything exciting planned or have you been anywhere nice recently? Tell me in the comments because I would love to find new places to explore.
Toodlepip!
xx

ReplyDeleteOh, Louise, I'm so happy for you that you said you were 100% at ease and yourself. What a good feeling!! Best in the world, I'd imagine. Hearing you (reading you) say that makes me feel a bit more at ease in this moment. Or something. :)

This was such a lovely post. Now I really want to visit Liverpool myself. Whenever I see pictures of Darcy I can't help but notice how much of a stylish young lady she already is (which I know must be because of her equally as stylish mum <3)
ReplyDeleteFor other nice places to visit I would recommend Exeter (loads of nice historic buildings including the cathedral, nice little cafes and plenty of shopping opportunities ;-)) and also Torbay (consisting of Torquay,Paignton and Brixham) at the southcoast of Devon. It's not really around the corner from where you live but it is great for short trips and has a zoo, nice beaches, a manor house with park and is just a lovely place to be in my opinion. :-)

ReplyDeleteOver the Easter break my boyfriend and I were thinking of going to Brighton for a long weekend; but after seeing the price of the hotels we decided we'd go to Hastings instead. He has fond memories of the place and I've never been so it should be fun! Then in August a HUGE group of us -I'm talking 25 people- are all going to Scotland, somewhere almost exactly half way between Edinburgh and Glasgow, which I'm also really looking forward to as well. :)
Hi Louise!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Darcy looking at the view from the window is the cutest thing ever!
I was wondering where you got that shirt from that you're wearing in the last picture it looks so stunning on you.
I'm on a diet too and when i've reached my goal my dad promised me to take me to London (my favorite town ever)

It's funny, I was just thinking this the other day; why do we so often take the opinions of others as a kind of gospel? Sure, if someone offers a fact it's probably wise to stop and listen. But opinions like those mentioned above aren't facts, yet we act (sometimes!) as if we have to live our lives based upon them. I suppose it's because we're pack animals and we just want to be loved. I wish more people had the courage to stand apart. It's funny how much knocking around it takes to create a person brave enough to stand on their own & apart. I'm glad you've done so, Louise :) xo
ReplyDeleteI'm from Wirral (across the Mersey) and miss Liverpool so much when I'm at uni in Sheffield (another amazing city though.) It's lovely to hear how much other people love the city too.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post Louise! The way you have captured your precious family moments is really inspirational. My dad did the same in a way when we were young and both myself and my brother treasure those memories now. Glad to see life is going so swimmingly for you three! x
