Motivational Monday #18

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Merry Monday one and all. Go forth and live happy weeks.
Motivational Monday

Today's quote from here is one I try to live by.

When you feel grateful, you feel less jealous of what other people have, less greedy for more, and satisfied with what your life already offers you. Satisfaction is peaceful and happy and that's the mindset I aim to have the majority of the time.

It's beyond easy to wake up and grumble. It's too early, you have to commute to work or school, you have too much to do, it's cold, it's hot, you're hair isn't working with you (I feel that pain), your payday is far off in the distance, the list goes on.

Instead, why not wake up and mentally run through the things you are grateful for? Have you woken up next to a loved one? Are you lucky to be in employment when so many are striving for jobs? Are you working towards a qualification that will only better your life? Is your hair really that bad? Are you lucky enough to have plenty of hairbands and products to help tame it's wild ways?

Think about it. Are things really that bad or do you actually have a heck of a lot going for you? When you start looking at things in this light, life feels a LOT better.

I'm grateful that I live a life where I can make my own goals and have the freedom to try and achieve them. What are you grateful for today?

Toodlepip!

xx

  14. i always think that if my day has a great start, the rest of my day will be great too so i absolutely agree with this quote! there's nothing like a boost of happiness in the morning (especially as it's monday) to get you through a long day of work whether you're at school or have a full time job.

  22. I am grateful for my home. My home includes everything I love and cherish. I have two 'homes' one is at Uni (which I have just moved out of and will be moving into my next one in Sept) and my other is at home with my family. They are both roofs over my head and both hold so much inside.

One enables me to grow academically (and of course socially sometimes!) and the other is everything to me.

Thanks Louise, you've brightened my day once again.

  26. Hi Louise! I've been waiting for this day to come quickly, just to read your Motivational Monday post =)

You are so right about the job, 3 years ago when I used to have a job, was lazy and couldn't be asked to work. Now I am regretting it as don't have a job and desperately want one. Once I get one, i'll promise to myself that I will wake up and go to work happily.

    Have a lovely day Louise.

  28. Your such a positive person, I love it. It can be so easy to forget how lucky we are and let other things get the better of us. When it comes down to it, health, happiness and the people we enjoy the company of are most important.

  31. Thanks for this Louise :). I really needed this! I absolutely despise my job and I'm constantly down on myself for how 'crappy' my life is, but really it isn't half bad. I'm fortunate enough to be working towards a degree and therefore won't be stuck in this miserable job forever. I'm fortunate enough to be going on my third holiday in under a year, in just a few weeks and I have an incredibly loving boyfriend, family and group of friends. Life ain't half bad when you think about it! Take care, Michaela xoxo

  51. All your motivational monday posts are just wonderful. They make me feel encouraged while also motivated (ha ha) to live my life to the best that I can. This quote is so true and I love what you said about waking up and thinking "it's too early" because I always struggle with that and I'm so not a morning person. But thinking of what I'm grateful for while it may not make me love going to morning practice I know it will help me feel more encouraged and in a better mood!

Family's so important to catch you and give you the strenght you need, even if it is only to manage to get through a day you just want to spend in your bed crying and throwing stuff.

Thanks again and again for this series!
