Another Laura, another regular. I've loved this blog since I discovered it last yeat and I like to think you will too. Laura's posts are beautifully written and allow you to loose yourself in her witty accounts of the life of a single gal in London. A brilliant lifestyle blog and a breath of fresh air.

Beauty Butterfly Blog

Jade is another regular on Sprinkle of Glitter (gee wizz I must be doing something right haha!). Her beauty product reviews are brilliantly laid out, with clear subtitles, so if there is just one thing you are looking to find out, it's simple pimples. With product reviews from MAC to Blistex, there is something for every budget and beauty fan. Loves it.

Beauty and Baggage

Seonaid is another regular advertiser (haha spot a pattern? Happy Customers!) and is a total gem. She has eyelashes that make me very jealous- despite reviewing some very lovely false lashes, she really doesn't need them, blending skills to die for and is currently running a giveaway for some Benefit goodies- Yay! If you'd like to win some gorgeous luxury cosmetics, check her out.

La Vida Fresa

If you like reviews, hauls, tags, cute kitty snaps and dupes, THIS is the blog fr you. With regular updates and a fresh layout, this blog really is a pleasure to read. Paula is also on twitter as @Miss_PaulaB, so check her out and say, 'Howdy Doody'- she's very friendly I promise!!

Obvious Leigh

Leigh's blog makes me tres happy. Like me, she is a Yummy Mummy (I have high opinions of myself haha) and shows us all that you can still find a little bit of time to pamper or treat yourself to a few beauty products here and there. Her posts range from beauty (with great swatches), fashion and hauls. Well worth a read.

Bella Blonde

Sarah-Jayne is one busy lady. Her blog encompasses beauty, lifestyle and craft posts, which is just as well considering Sarah is a qualified Beauty Therapist who also teaches in college- oof, where does she find the time? I think this is the blog that has everything- easy step by step craft tutorials, shopping hauls, hair and beauty reviews and a little bit of 'lifeyness' thrown in to boot. Yay!

Flossie's Beauty Love

Flossie is a busy Mum of two, 'trying' (her words, not mine!), to stay glam and imparting her beauty knowledge on all of us eager beavers. Flossie has worked for an array of beauty companies and so really knows her stuff! If you like posts about storage, reviews, events and hauls, this is a blog for your reading list.

Miss LV

Miss LV (not sure if she'd like her first name published) is a makeup obsessed animal lover. Although her posts range from high end Illamasqua to the ultra affordable MUA, she is currently running a mini series on MAC Lipsticks, so do head over and check those out. A lovely blog, with surprise give aways, beauty and a touch of life to boot!

A World Full Of Prettiness

Kate's blog is jammed packed with everything girlie- OOTD'S, NOTD'S, reviews, hauls, ideas and lifey posts, there is bound to be something you'll enjoy reading. If for no other reason, you should check it out purely because of how gorgeously cute her bedroom is! See for yourself!

Wired

Wired is the most amazing jewellery company ever! I have actually given this advert a complimentary month (Faye bought a January slot) purely because I just love all the pretty things and think it deserves as much coverage as possible and you all need to know about it!

Has Spring Sprung?

This morning as I brushed my teeth, I opened the bathroom window and heard something unfamiliar but oh so lovely- birdsong. For me, the first musical notes from my garden friends of the year are a mark of hope, of good things to come and at last, an end to grey dreariness.

I instantly wanted to do a 'spring' post and sat down with Lappie (who doesn't name their laptops?!) to have a bit of a mooch on weheartit for eye candy. Suddenly, I realised that this all felt a bit de ja vous. Hmmmm. After a little think, I realised I did something VERY similar last year in February! If you would like to read that post, HERE it is. Haha, it goes to show what a creature of habit I am.

Never one to miss out on the opportunity to create a new tradition, I typed "Spring" into weheartit.com and here are a selection of my favourites :

Tulips have been one of my favourite flowers since as long as I can remember. This picture reminds me of my Auntie Rose's garden which is always in full bloom.

Although this is clearly not in England (there are no lorries swaying across two lanes and sports cars cutting anyone up), it makes me want a road trip with the windows wound down.

With two of my girlie friends engaged this winter, weddings are on the horizon. As soon as the shops start stocking nice summer clothes, I'm going shopping!

In our house, Spring is birthday season. Baby Glitter, Me, my Mum in heaven and some of my cousins all have April birthdays, so the anticipation of cake and parties is never far from our minds.

New Year, New Me?

Happy New Year!

As is customary with the first of a new year, I have made some realistic and some rather unrealistic resolutions that I'd like to try and uphold. Last year I planned to be a size 14 by Christmas, organise my bank statements and save a grand. And I achieved none of these. Excellent.

(Nope, the image -from weheartit.com- has nothing to do with new year or resolutions, but hello..waffle hearts with pink rainbow confetti sprinkles?! How could I not share!?)

That being said, I'm ready to go with fresh enthusiasm and vigour (Oooh I love that word...vigggourrrrr).

1. Lose about 5 stone and spend all my days frolicking in a bikini flouting my non wobbling thighs, having baths that I don't create a little damn of water with my bottom and trying on ridiculously tiny dresses in Zara and suchlike. Maybe a tad far?

2. Save up enough money to take myself, Matt and Baby Glitter on holiday to America. IHOP calls me.

3. Eat five portions of fruit and veg and do thirty minutes exercise a day. I'm not going to weigh or measure myself because frankly, to me, diets and weightloss things are mind blowlingly dull so I'm just going to try and be more healthy. I think if I do this, excess fattybumbumness will go away slowly. Any tips and advice on this topic (ie. Easy low fat snacks, easy little exercise tricks. Please note, I hate cooking and sweating so easy and quick are key here!) are welcome!

4. Be proud of my blog and channel. Sometimes when I tell people that I don't know very well what I do, I feel like a silly little girl that plays with and writes about lipgloss. But I'm not, so I'm going to stop acting like it.

5. Continue to love, cherish and nurture Baby Glitter.

There are quite a few other little things I intend to do like keeping my wardrobe tidy, actually taking my toenail polish off rather than just going over again with the same colour in the hope nobody will notice and stop blurting out mental things to people I barely know, but I shan't bang on and on.

I must say, if 2012 treats me half as well as 2011 did, I'll be one happy lady indeed. Will this be another golden year?

I couldn't be feeling festive more if I tried. We've not long come in from a carol service where I had my first mince pie of the year, our candles are lit, the fairy lights are on, Michael Buble is crooning away on the telebox.

I thought I'd take this moment of peace to tell you about my Amazing Advertisers this month.

Laura is a 20 something fashion journalist with a penchant for makeup, nail art, Downton Abbey (tehe me too!) and of course, fashion! If you'd like some nail inspiration, tips for whiter teeth (that was a good'un) or even bargainous designer shoe dupes, Laura is your gal! Click on her name or the ad to the left and check her out.

Ellie is one of my regular amazing advertisers over here and it really is a pleasure to have her. Her blog is jam packed full of makeup hauls, style inspired wish lists and fun tags- I really want to do her 'How much is your face worth' tag. Faye and I go waaaaayyyyy back. We met in freshers week at university in Liverpool 8 years ago (wow I feel old) and that first meeting (in a lift!) lead to years of adventures. Dancing in the flood water of her flat, numerous cheese toasties, insane nights out, games like 'Five Item Dress Up' and the time she saved my life by shouting, "DON'T PUT YOUR KNIFE IN THE TOASTER!!", are a few reasons why I love her.

Recently Faye has started a blog all about her life as a domestic goddess. If you're into baking, making, mini breaks and generally nosy-ing into someone else's life, Faye is your gal.

4,000 Thank You's

So it's my Oscar moment. I feel like I need to stand at a podium and thank everyone. It's the middle of the night (why am I not in bed?!) and I have just noticed that I have tipped over the 4,000 follower mark- oh me oh my!

It got me to thinking about when I first started Sprinkle of Glitter. It was a very slow burner and I didn't have many followers or interaction with any Sprinklerinos, but I just liked writing my little thoughts and taking snaps of things. I remember once ringing my Dad and saying, "oh guess what, remember that blog thing that I started a few months ago? Well it has 35 follower people now!" and feeling very proud. I feel just as proud now. I think that even though 4,000 is a bigger number than 35, it is the same pride and excitement. This is because the 4000th person to click that 'Join this site' button, is just as important and super as the 35th person, or the 578th person, or the 1724th person...you get my point.

I shan't ramble on, you know what I'm trying to say, THANK YOU for reading, commenting and just being great. Slushy as it sounds, you really do have a big positive effect on my life, and I'm really so very grateful to for it.

Revampaliscious

Unless you have no eyes (In which case, I salute you for reading my blog), you will have seen that my blog has had a rather large makeover. I love it.

I loved my old header so much, it will always have a special place in my heart, but I felt the rest of my blog was getting messy, needed to clean it up a touch and didn't want to keep bothering Zoe. So, thankfully, a lovely gal and Bloggerino called Abby gave me a helping hand. I say 'helping hand', but what I mean is that she did the entire thing- she's a total wizz!!

You may remember her from a while back when I entered a blog competition with my favourite lipgloss and won! Woop! I won a few makeuppy bits, a Cath Kidston mug (which I still use) and a candle- lovely jubbly. Anyhoo, Abby has her own ultra swish blog, which you can check out HERE.

Abby has also been helping me with a ......wait for it......secret blog. Yes, I'm setting up another blog that will be purely for interviews, as this is something I'm getting into. As soon as that is a bit more sorted and snazzy, I shall give you the link. If you are an eager beaver and want to watch it be tweaked and fiddled (ooer) until it is totally ready, google Lou's Chatterviews and you might find it-ooooh a little challenge.

I wanted to publicly thank Abby for all her hard work- so THANK YOU chummy!! Perhaps I should fanx her!

I'd also like to thank (good grief, I should be standing on a stage, clutching a little gold man and weeping at this rate) all the lovely ladies who have bought some advertising space on the right hand side. Since having the revamp, I had a tidy and cleared some space. With all the new space, I have a few limited slots for advertising buttons. I was prreettttty surprised with the interest shown- I've even taken bookings for November! Wowzas!

Naturally I have had a looksie at all the blogs featured to the left and I must say, I am absolutely LOVING Laura Laments. Puurrlleeaasee click on her button and have a read, it's perfect 'snuggled up in bed in jimjams' reading. Just what you want on these cold nights.

Happy 2nd Birthday Sprinkle of Glitter

Wow! I've been writing and loving this blog for two years (and nine days- haha with all my aformentioned Baby Glitter time, I missed it!) now. It's a toddler!!

This blog has brought and continues to bring me so much enjoyment and that is largely down to you, you sitting reading these words right now, yes, YOU! Thank you for taking time out of your life to read my musings, thank you for making the effort to comment, thank you for being such a wonderful part of my glittery world of goodness. I appreciate it more than you know.

Magical Cribs

Only 6 more days and Matt will be back from Costa Rica (he's been gone since June!!) and I will have help with Baby Glitter and I will be able to do good, informative, fun blog posts. Until then though, it's tired waffle from a worn out Mummy! I salute you Single Mothers- I don't know how you do it! I'm pooped!!

Even though I'm wearier than a sloth on sleeping pills, I hate to leave it so long, so I plumped for a good old weheartit style post.

As you will know, from time to time I hop onto that wonderful little site full of gloriously brilliant images, type a word into the search and gorge on all the eye candy. I'm currently uploading an Updated Nursery Tour video to my YouTube Channel so I aptly typed 'cot' and 'crib' into the search box.

Now, I happen to think Baby Glitter has a super duper bedroom, but these are simply huh-mazing!

Are you ready? Here we go...

I think this last one is my favourite. I would love for Baby Glitter to have a special hide away cubbyhole to read and imagine and fill her head with whimsy. Perhaps I should build her one. Time to get my thinking cap on.

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Whilst mooching about on weheartit.com (I bloomin' well love that site), I played my favourite game, which is to just type a word into the search box and see what comes up. Usually I type things like "glitter", "sparkle" or "sequins", but today I tried "gem" and here are my top picks.

Oh my oh my! I tell you what, next time I go to a fancy dress party (and now I really hope I'm invited to one soon), I'm going to do this look on my face. I wish this were acceptable day wear because I luurvve it.

I love the colours mint and mauve so this picture made the cut.

It's pink, it's gaudy, it glitters, it had to be on here.

Once I've lost my baby weight (and let's face it, the excess lardybum I was carrying around before pregnancy anyway), and I become of super model stature, I'm going to stick gems to my thighs. Even if I'm wearing jeans.

Not much of a beauty or life post, but definately a sparkly gems one ;)

Happy Birthday To Me

I don't have any plans because Matt's at work and I have to look after Baby Glitter and for the last few days I think I've had a touch of the baby blues and had no interest in my Birthday (I still don't have as much as usual) so didn't organise anything :(

Buuuttt as Tony Blair quoted from that famous song "Things can only get better", so here's to having a lovely sparkly day!

Pregnancy Update- 41 Weeks Pregnant

Well, as you can see, still no Baby Glitter. I'm so fed up I could cry/scream/both, but know it wouldn't get me too far.

(Sound advise if you ask me! Hahaha!)

I'm a week over now and have been booked for an induction for Tuesday the 5th. I really, really don't want an induction. I thought I did but then I found out what it entails and that you loose the option of a water birth anndd unless you are in established labour, you're partner can't stay with you the whole time. Also, whilst you are induced (ie, laying with a pessary up your lady zone for 24 hours), you are in a room with 3 other woman and have regular internal examinations- NOT WHAT I WANT AT ALL.

In an ideal world I'll labour at home as long as possible, get to hospital, pop myself in a birthing pool, dim the lights, try to remain calm and have a lovely little baby girl. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be reading off the same page and she doesn't seem to game for this plan.

I had a stretch and sweep yesterday, which is just as vile as it sounds and the midwife said she had stretched me (shudder) 2-3cm, so this is a positive. I'm booked in for another on Friday so fingers crossed it starts labour (as yet, yesterday's hasn't). Whilst these Stretch and Sweep things are very gross, I think they are the lesser of the 2 evils (compared to induction) so I'll opt for them. Sigh.

In other news, my feet and ankles are still swollen, just called me Mrs Kankle, my skin has gone really spotty (thank goodness for MAC Studio Sculpt) and I have been more tired than a sloth on sleeping tablets.

I won't go on too much because I'll only be Mrs Grumpy Pantaloons and I don't want to bum you all out.

Please send all your psychic energy to encourage Baby Glitter out naturally!

Chit Chat of This and That

I do actually have some reviews for you but I'm getting a bit tired of that kind of post and figure if I'm fed up writing them, you're fed up reading them! I feel a bit like I've gone Lou's Reviews mental because I felt a bit like my life was a but uneventful but then I thought "meh, it's my little bloggypops so I'll jolly well witter about little bits of life". Ooohh that was fighting talk wasn't it!

First of all, Baby Glitter will be here any day now (even if I do have to be induced, which is looking more and more likely), so don't forget to enter my 'Guess Baby Glitter's Real Name Competition' and have your chance to win a MAC product of your choice, click HERE for that.

I went to the midwife today to talk about what happens next now that I'm overdue and feel quite freaked out by it all. She offered a stretch and sweep which I turned down because it just sounded too utterly vile and a few people have said they have little effect. So now it's a waiting game and if she doesn't make her debut by the end of next week, it's induction time. This excites me because obviously I want a little baby and to see her little face and touch her hands, but also scares me because I'm freaked out by needles and drips and stuff. Yes, I'm cool with pushing a small human out of my lady zone, but I'm not ok with having a drip in my hand, go figure.

I'm really feeling gee'd up by the sunnier weather. I rrreeeaaalllllyyyy want to loose a few pounds this year (I weighed myself today and nearly died at how much weight I have gained, I hope this baby is 8lbs and the waters are around 3stone ahahaha) and feel good about myself. I usually feel OK but just recently I have been feeling very whale like and I want to spend the summer being confident in lovely floral floaty numbers and suchlike. I tell you what, I never see anything nice in Next, but I had a gander online and there are LOADS of gorgeous things there! Why don't they stock these in stores? Why? WHHYYYY??

I usually like to keep this blog as a place of happy chat, beauty, bargains and sparkles, but recently I have seen a few bloggers talk about more serious issues. I think it's ever so brave of them to go down this avenue because it attracts so many opinions and can be a bit controversial. I have a couple of topics that are very close to my heart that I am thinking of working up the courage to discuss, one being loosing someone to cancer and the other being child abuse, so do look out for those oh-so-cheery posts!

(Totally off topic but I NEED these in my life)

Whhaattt elssee? Hmmm. Oh yes! I'm thinking about starting another degree (part time from home) in September in Counselling. I did Psychology and Biology at University in Liverpool when I was 18 and my plan was always to be a counsellor but it kind of fell by the weighside and I took various boring office jobs to pay the bills. Now though I've come to realise I'm 25 and want to have something that I'm special at, I want to have the ability to make a decent salary and also I want Baby Glitter to look up to her Mummy and feel proud. My Dad owns his own business and so did my Mum and I always felt/feel very proud of them and so want the same for Baby Glitter too. Soooooo, all I need to do now is find a course that suits and apply- eep!

Ohhhh what a jolly good ramble I've had, I feel like you are all up to speed with my life now, whether you wanted to be or not, hehe.

I'm 3 days late, but as I said yesterday, I just can't believe it is March already.

I've been waiting for this month since summer 2010, when I found out Matt and I were pregnant and now it's here!

Being pregnant has been nothing like I expected. You hear of women 'blooming' and 'glowing' and shopping for fantastic nursery furniture and fluffy little blankets. This hasn't been the case for me. I hate to use that reality tv cliche, but it really has been a 'journey' that I feel I have learnt a lot from, mentally and physically. I think I will do a separate post on this because it's quite a biggie, but for now, one of the biggest things I have noticed is that I feel like being pregnant has made me more ambitious.

I've always been a bit of a go-with-the-flow kinda gal and just meandered nicely through my adult life- a-levels, uni, house, wedding, pregnancy etc, but now I feel that I want to achieve things and be not only a good role model to my Daughter (still feels weird saying that!!) but also to myself.

So with that in mind, March is going to be my deciding month. I've got a few ideas of things I want to achieve in 2011, the obvious and main one is to deliver this baby safely and calmly and be a good mummy, but I also aim to improve other areas of my life too.

I want to improve and progress this blog a bit, improve my body confidence, learn a new little skill (I really want to make funky little girl tutus with amazing colours and sparkles and what not!) and to be able to cook a few things (this'll be a real challenge because I hate cooking, hate it hate it hate it).

So Bloggerinos, I will keep you posted on all this and hopefully by April I will have a bit of an action plan in place. All tips and suggestions are welcome or if you want to tell me about goals I'd love to hear- I was so inspired by all of you who told me what your 2011 plans were in my 1000 follower giveaway. Today I'm announcing the winner of my Belated 1000 Follower Lush Gift Set Giveaway. I'm a couple of days late but have good reason- I've been in the worst pain ever and ended up in hospital!! Drama drama drama! In a nutshell, Baby Glitter and I are alright, although she is in a funny 'back to back' position and I've strained my stomach muscles (lordy knows how!).

Come On Spring

After a lot of loooong posts recently, I felt like doing an easypeasylemonsqueezy weheartit jobby.

I'm eagerly awaiting Spring. Birds are tweeting in the morning, it's still light when Matt gets in from work (I'm on Maternity Leave now- hooray) and soon we'll be in floaty tops and I'll have my Baby Glitter.

It's Saturday night and despite having about three draft posts to complete, I have been mooching through all your blogs and gorging on interesting articles and pictures- I luurrvvee to do this.
