Aloha Sprinklerinos,
For the majority of my makeup wearing life I have been a bronzer girl. I love to bronze, highlight, shimmer, contour, the lot. With naturally red skin, I hid away from products that promised flushed cheeked and rosey glows and stuck to what I knew.
What a silly billy I was.
After a recent I-Can-Wear-Blusher discovery, I added two MUA Blush Perfection Cream Blushers to my collection and have been so impressed with their quality.
With an affordable price tag of £2 and 4 different shades to choose from, I think these could be a makeup bag staple.
I found them to have good, buildable pigmentation, easy to blend properties and they lasted a satisfactory amount of time. Obviously the likes of MAC and Illamasqua are going to outshine these in the quality stakes, but for £2 a piece, these blushers were above and beyond my expectations.
I really liked that you could apply a few layers to have quite a strong look, or simple apply a tiny bit for a fresh flush. I was also pleased that the cream blusher worked well with my fingers, for when you don't have a brush to hand.
The packaging is sweet and the clear hinged lid allows you to see exactly what shade you are picking up. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the shade have names. I'm a huge fan of their budget £1 lipsticks but wish, wish, wish that they would give them pretty names. 'Shade 13' is just so uninspiring, no matter how amazing the colour is.
Overall, I don't have anything bad to say about these little gems and suggest you give them a swatch next time you are in your local Superdrug.
Have you tried these before? Are you a fan of MUA? I know I am!
Toodlepip!
xx

Their online store ships internationally! :)
DeleteI'm the opposite to you, I have no idea about bronzer but I've always worn blusher. I picked up Dolly the other day and I love it! I really want to try out the Topshop cream blushers next.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte xo
She's way too different now. She's really annoying.
ReplyDeleteI've become a crazed mad woman since discovering MUA. The lipsticks I absolutely love and like you I've never really used cream blush. I don't really gravitate towards blush at all to be honest. I may give these a try though! :)
ReplyDeleteJoanne x
I LOVE MUA, love how they do dupes of coveted high end produtcs... Caviar nails a la Ciate, the Undressed eye palette identical to the infamous Naked Palette... I will have to try these next! Love your writing style Louise, keep it up :)
ReplyDeletex
I may need to play around with them a bit more but I found the cremes to be a little "too" blendable and when it finally "sets" I've blended it to almost nothing which was very annoying. However I did order some more during that 35% off sale because I just loved the consistency and colours :)
ReplyDeleteThose look nice!!! I wish we had mua in the states :(
ReplyDeleteThese look really nice :) They don't sell MUA in Canada but I'd love to try them one day. Thanks for sharing Louise!
ReplyDeleteabundanceoferica.blogspot.ca
Hello, fellow Canadian here. You can order them online from the MUA website. I've just found out 2 months ago that they shipped international, made my first order and everything came through without any trouble from Canada customs or anything. Shipping international is a flat rate fee so I was really excited about that :-)
DeleteI also avoided blushers until just recently! I have naturally rosey cheeks (but not flattering in the slightest) and always covered them up and thought blushers would just give me the same look. now i've realized that with the right foundation, they can give a nice pink-ish glow :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still super bummed that I can't get my hands on MUA! My wish list just grows and grows each time a new beauty blogger features one of their products. I'm on a sort of cream blusher kick, and Dolly looks just too good to pass up! x
ReplyDeleteI have no idea if this brand is sold in the states but I will be on the lookout for it. I've heard great things about the brand!
ReplyDeleteOmg i have to try these, i have just found out i can wear blush after trying to hide my red cheeka's! Great post!:)

I LOVE MUA! I literally don't know how they do such good quality for like a pound a product! If the urban decay naked palette is on your wishlist for Christmas or you're thinking of treating yourself, I've just finished a blog post on it :) Take a look here: http://thelittlekoala.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/hyped-product-review-original-naked.html

Thank you for this post. I have natural rosy red cheeks and avoid blusher most of the time even if I have sorted some of it out thanks to foundation. But I've been wanting a blusher for a while now and went into super drug today, so annoyed that I didn't read this earlier other wise I would have brought one of them.
ReplyDeleteBut Thank You again as I will be defiantly going to super drug again soon to buy these. x
I love finding fun new makeup to try. These colors are really pretty too.
