Urban Outfitters Nail Polish

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Urban Outfitters is a shop I associate with my little sister Tiyana. She loves that style of clothing and is always glad of birthday vouchers from there. For me though, it's not really my taste.

Whilst in Florida last month I decided to visit a store to see if I could pick her up any clothes but had no joy- everything looked drab and overpriced.

Just as I was leaving though, I spotted a huge rack of nail polish, and like a moth to a flame, was drawn in. At $5 each with a buy one get one free offer, I couldn't resist.

Would you just look at the above picture? It's like porn to me. Glitter porn. Urgh.

Aside from Oyster, I'm really pleased with all of these polishes. I have worn Blue Velvet and Pluto several times now and had so many compliments. They are easy to apply and chipping stays at bay for a good 3-4 days, which is enough for me to be happy.

The OCD part of me also likes that the bottles are square so that they all stand nicely next to each other. When I'm queen of the world (gonna happen), all containers will be have right angles so that things can be perpendicular. Listens for sounds of looney men coming to get me.

What colours are you loving this Spring/Summer? Have you caught onto the neon trend yet or are you strictly and pastel gal? I flip flop....heh heh...see what I did there? Tell me in the comments.

Summer Nails

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

It's June!! In my eyes, this means it is officially Summer, despite wearing my winter boots today. Keerrraazzzy.

Mini Essie Bottle* - Sure Shot
China Glaze* - Wicked Style
Barry M - Pink Iridescent
No 7 - Gold Top Coat (What an adventurous name, eh?!)

I don't know about you, but summer makes me want to wear bright candy colours, brings out my inner girlieness (not that it's hard!) and my love for glitter rages on full steam ahead.

I noticed there was a bit of a theme to my recent nail polish choices and thought it was a good excuse to out more pink and glitter in the world (or at least just on my blog).

I have been absolutely LOVING Essie polishes of late. I get mine from BeautyBay and they have a MASSIVE selection of shades. I know Superdrug and Boots have recently started stocking them, which is super, but I've noticed that they don't supply many shimmery, metallic or glitter options, and this makes me sad.

China Glaze is a brand I have been a huge fan of for years and have quite a few of their shades. They are devilishly tricky to find in the UK and I have previously bought all mine at Beauty Conventions. Ebay seems to be a good bet though if you are looking to dabble in China Glaze and THIS seller has a vast array of hues to choose from. Hooray!

What sort of colours do you go for during sunny seasons? Are you loving pinks and glitter as much as me?

A Sporting Love

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Did you fall for it? Did you think this post would be about something exercise related? Hahaha, worry ye not.

It's actually a little play on words for a new range of nail polishes by Miss Sporty (found at Boots and Superdrug), which I am really enjoying at the moment.

I must admit, I have a slight nail polish addiction. There is something about dainty glass bottles filled with coloured liquid that floats my boat...and empties my purse!

I recently spotted in Boots Miss Sporty polishes are on a 3 for 2 offer, meaning you can take home 3 new shades for £3.98! Bargain alert!

All the colours above are ones I have bought for a rather enormous giveaway I shall soon be hosting over on my YouTube channel (so do make sure you are subscribed to ensure you don't miss out!), but I am building up quite a collection myself. The navy and holographic sparkle polish is probably my favourite and so I just had to put it in the competition loot too.

The Miss Sporty polishes have a great finish, are long lasting enough for a drugstore purchase, and come in a vast array of rainbow hues.

Next time you are aimlessly wandering the aisles (you know you do it too), be sure to have a look at this affordable wonders.

Have you tried anything from Miss Sporty? What did you think of it?

LOU'S REVIEWS :: TopShop Sandstorm Cyclone Polish

Aloha Bloggerinos,

I've been super busy today, but I don't like to not post a video or article, so this is a really quickie (ooer misses!).

I went to the midwife this morning, hoping she would magically encourage Baby Glitter but alas, no such luck. She did say though that if there was no sign of her by next week we could do a ...... stretch and sweep! *shudder*. So tonight we've had the spiciest fajitas ever to smoke this little blighter out!!

Anyhooo, do you like this new nail polish? This is 'Cyclone' from the new TopShop Sandstorm Collection and retails for £5.

(Not the greatest of snaps I know, I was in a tizzy trying to get to midwives/feed the cat/find my bag etc etc- garghh!!)

I love the cube bottle, very chic and I enjoy the colour immensely. It's easily wearable for when you want something but not too much- perfect for job interviews and suchlike. Also, the joy of lighter colours is if they chip during the day, it isn't as noticeable, phewf! The cruddy picture above is just with 2 coats but no base or top coat, so I'm looking forward to spending a bit more time on them in future.

All in all, an ideal colour for when you're in a mad rush and want a tiny bit of subtle oomph.

I have quite a lot of the Sandstorm Collection and am really enjoying it, so keep your eyes peeled for more posts.

January Skies NOTD

Aloha Bloggerinos,

I haven't worn any nail varnish in an absolute age because my Step Mother told me it's not good to when you're pregnant as chemicals can get into your bloodstream and through to your baby.

Mmmmm I'm not saying this isn't true but it's not something I have really ever heard before, so in a nutshell, I decided not to sweat the small stuff and give my fingers a little treat- it's very important to feel glamorous when you're the size of a beached whale, waddling when you walk and scared to sneeze in case you wee yourself! (NB- I'm not incontinent but I fear it dagnamit, ffeeaarrr it!)

I put this on yesterday and it was the first day in a long time I'd seen blue skies so took that as my 'muse'- oh lala. I used Eyeko Pastel Polish which is a creamy pale blue 'shot with irridenscant shimmer' (although I didn't think it was very glimmery, just shiny- a good thing I thought) and then to add some extra sparkle (you all know my love for a sprinkle of glitter after all) I swiped on one thin layer of China Glaze Stellar, which is a champagne colour glitter.

(That's right, I totally chose this pic to show off my wedding and engagement rings! As you can see, I'm not manicurist, I just paint-n-go! Haha)

I went on the Eyeko Website (HERE) to check something and saw that this scrummy blue polish is currently being sold at 20% off in a gorgeous limited edition set of 3- blue, mint and lilac- swoon! If you do decide to treat yourself to a January 'pick up' (who doesn't need plenty of little treats in January??), then use my Ambassador Code (E11341) at the checkout and they'll send you a free gift- woop!

Do you likey likey? It really does remind me of January, perhaps I'll make this my January tradition.

ps- As I typed this baby dans la tummy (or 'Baby Glitter' as a Bloggerino referred to her as the other day- love it!) has kicked non stop. Do you think she wants me to buy the polish set maybe? Hahaha!

Lou's Reviews- Nails Inc Nail Polish (London)

Aloha Bloggerinos,

As I mentioned last week on my YouTube video, Boots are currently doing on offer on Diet Coke. Hurrah! Buy 2 bottles of DC and you get a free Nails Inc. polish in a choice of 4 colours. Now, I didn't quite realise that the offer was on until the 30th of June, went crazy, dashed off to Boots and bought 8 bottles just so I could have all 4 polishes. Oopsie! No harm done though because I do enjoy a 'Diet Coke Break' (frankly it's all that gets me by sometimes in the office).

These little gems will usually set you back about £10.00 so this is definitely worthwhile if you like Diet Coke anyway (think they might do it for Coke too). If I see them on offer with magazines, I snap those up too! Ohh yeah!

The colours are names after cities which I think is rather cool. You can have London (griege), Milan (red), Paris (purple) and hot pink (New York). As 'griege' is set to be this season's hot new shade, I'm pretty pleased I got it for big fat free.

This is a little picture of 'London' on my nails (no I don't have only 3 fingers, I just fancied a change from the usual nails wrapped round polish bottle that seems to be the done thing) with 2 coats of Nails Inc. and one top coat of China Glaze for good measure.

I must say, after 2 coats there is a lovely smooth and shiny finish and it seems fairly chip resistant, I've had it on 3 days and it still looks lovely :)

I love this offer and hope they do it again with other colours.

Have you tried any? What are your thoughts?

Issobelle's NOTD

Aloha Bloggerinos!

I have a few NOTD posts coming up soon because I was sent some GORGEOUS goodies from Tans and Talons - click HERE to visit this treasure trove of nail goodies, but when I was having a little sort out on Saturday, Issobelle popped round (not by herself, being only 4 years old, hahahaha) and was VERY excited by all the nail varnishes and eyeshadows and makeuppy goodness. So, with her Mummy's blessing, we went to town and she choose five colours for Aunty 'Ooweeze' to paint on.

Yes, I know I haven't done the neatest of jobs, but alas, little girls don't hold very still for very long! After we had painted them, she spotted a tube of glitter that was part of my Tans and Talons loot and instantly wanted some. It looks so cute in the little vial that I couldn't bare to open it so I sprinkled on a little of my MAC Glitter Pigment on the wet paint and we then had one very happy Issobelle!

In a bid to play longer with my nail goodies, she kindly modelled a few bits. I'll do full reviews later and I have mentioned them in my youtuberrino channel :)

Nail Art Glitter:

Nail Art Rest (very handy I tell ya!):

The nail art rest and glitter are only a couple of pounds each or so and are brilliant! The nail art rest is perfect for someone like me who is a nail art novice, it really does help :)

Hope you enjoyed my (well sort of "my") first ever NOTD. Many more to follow!

Toodlepip! xx

Little disclaimer- For those of you that don't agree with cosmetics on children, her Mummy removed this the next day and I don't put false lashes and tan on her so I hope you aren't too up in arms! :)
