Aloha Sprinklerinos,
How time flies!
I thought it might be nice to do another '7 Things' post because a) it encourages me to achieve my mini goals and b) I love reading about all of your targets and feeling inspired.
I have a really busy few weeks coming up, packed with guests, trips to London, a makeup artistry course (so excited!), a wisdom tooth removal, in laws, a Christening, playdates, and of course, all the normal things life has to offer.
I feel like I need to set myself some targets in order to create some sort of underlying structure and to keep me from becoming a scatty tornado of stress.
If you would like to join in with this post and write your own '7 Things', do feel free! You are welcome to use the image above but please link it back to here. You don't have to complete all your goals in 7 days, it's entirely up to you. A tres casual affair if you will. If you do write your own blog post, I'd love for you to link it in the comments so that we can all check each other's blogs out, feel inspired and make new chums. This is a very sparkly community after all.
7 Things for 7 Days
Drink Less :: Diet Coke. I am an absolute fiend for the fizzy stuff. If I could drink it all day, every day, I would. Sadly though, it leads to a pufffy face and worse, bad teeth. I'm having to have a wisdom tooth removed soon and unless I want all the rest pulled out, I need to cut back. This last 2 weeks I've managed to cut back to one can every couple of days but I'm going to now go to 2 cans a week, then 1 can, then cold turkey!
Eat More :: Fruit and veg. I always feel better when I eat fresh food but lately it's been pushed down my priority list. Time to pull my socks up and fuel myself with goodness.
Prepare :: For Christmas. Yes, I know it's September, but I like to have Christmas all wrapped up (excuse the pun) by November so that I can relax and enjoy the festivities without worrying if I have bought Jean-Next-Door's box of festive biscuits yet.
Recreate Something :: From Pinterest. I absolutely love the oh-so-inspiring site and update my boards daily, so it's about time I started doing some of the things I pin. I've tried a few projects in the past and enjoyed the experience so I'm looking forward to getting my glue gun out again!
Date :: My Husband. For our anniversary this month I made him date night vouchers and we are yet to do many of them. I'm going to make a concerted effort to spend quality time with him, because more often than not we just dash through life not stopping to enjoy our relationship. Shmoozy shmoozy.
Organise :: My wardrobe. Things have reached a critical state. I can't find anything, bras are in with socks, coats are in with dresses, leggins have gone walkabout and lordy knows where all my cami's are. This ends now! It's tidy-time!
Progress :: Baby Glitter. The little bug is fast transitioning from baby to toddler and is a lot more inquisitive and adventurous. I'm starting to do older activities with her (like colouring in) but I want to encourage her development further with more stimulating activities. I'm sure pinterest will come up trumps for fun ideas.
I'm really looking forward to working at these goals and hope that by sharing them with you, I have a better chance of achieving them all!
What do you hope to achieve?
Toodlepip!
xx
I agree about preparing for Christmas! Nothing worse than not being able to enjoy it all, especially now Darcy's getting older and will understand whats going on more :)

Christmas preparation is definitely on my list!
ReplyDeleteI love this thing with 7 things to do! It really gives you motivation! Love love love your blog, it always makes me smile! xx

Lovely blog post! I'm looking forward to Christmas this year, but I am also trying to get things sorted like you said, I usually (not on purpose) forgot to buy someone something! It's also my nephew's 1st birthday next week which means I have to try and find something for the little one! And I am doing the same with cutting down on the fizzy drinks.. I'm not having a tooth out, (already had 5 out this year! due to the braces!) but I have to cut back... or do I? :)
ReplyDeleteLove the blog, Louise!

I definitely need to eat more fruit and veg, I tend to reach for junk food more when the weather gets colder! Also need to organise my wardrobe, as it sounds as though it looks similar to yours!
ReplyDeletehttp://buttonsapart.blogspot.co.uk
I cannot agree more with you here Louise! Especially about Christmas, normally I'm running round like a headless chicken from the end of November and completely skint and unable to attend any festive get together's out and about :( Not fun! But this will be happening no more! I'm going to start my Christmas shopping early, and like you actually relax and enjoy the festive time! So cheers to that! Have a great time on the makeup artist course, am very jealous!

Oh dear, looking at this reminds me of all the things i'm supposed to do! The makeup artistry course sounds amazing, but i'll have to make do with experimenting on my (slightly reluctant) friends. It would be lovely and oh-so-cute to see some of baby glitters drawings! xx
ReplyDeleteI need to try this as well! X
ReplyDelete:: LUCYSLUXE ::
Hahah I definately need to do this! blog post will be up later, please check it out louise! <3 <3

Cutting the Diet Coke is such a good thing to do! The aspartame they use as a sweetener is horrible for your bones and joints, aside from all the other ingredients. My mother drank it for years and years and started having these horrible arthritis-like pains in her legs, which then stopped when she gave up diet coke! It was incredible.
ReplyDeleteI should make a list of things, too! Autumn time always makes me want to get organised.
On my blog I have 21 things that I want to achieve before I'm 21, please feel free to check it out & follow! lolabox.tumblr.com think I might try the 7 things in 7 days & see what I can get done! :) X
ReplyDeleteI need to stop with the diet coke! I go through 4cans a day maybe?

Christmas prep and wardrobe clear out...both on my to do list now! Thanksyou :] x
ReplyDeleteIf you think your issue with Diet Coke is bad I drink 10 liters a week !!!
ReplyDeleteI love this post and your ideas. In fact you have inspired me so much that I have made a blog post about my own 7 things for 7 days, on my poor unloved and neglected blog. Thanks as always!

i did seven things for seven days for the month of september too, except mine is all month! i love this idea, so i will link mine! thanks louise <3 http://briticabeauty.blogspot.com/2012/08/interactive-7-things-for-7-days.html
ReplyDeleteThose are some lovely goals! :) Xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is something I definately need to do. I have a few things I need to do I really should make a bucket list and actually do them. I will probably do this on my next post which will be Sunday but Cooking is definatley on my list of things I need to do more as I recently attempted baking LOL.

ReplyDeleteI don't drink Diet Coke but I do drink Pepsi Max Zero Calorie. I decided just yesterday to give up drinking it. I drink about two cans a day and I think it's just as bad as Diet Coke. My plan is to pretty much drink up what I have by the end of next week and go cold turkey. And if successful not only will it be better for the teeth but the pocket book as well! Soda pop isn't cheap. So good luck Louise!

ReplyDeleteHey Louise. I always enjoy your 7 things posts from afar. I have needed a kick up the bum to blog again, and have some rare time of work to enjoy myself and thought this would be a lovely way to incorporate both and join your sparkly community!!!
My 7 things are not quite as sensible as yours!!!! Good luck with your goals.
Thanks :-)

ReplyDeleteOh god. How embarrasing. I feel like a right divvie. Here is my 4th comment with the actual link.... Maybe I should add an 8th item- learning not to embarrass myself whilst blogging!
ReplyDeleteSeven Things for Seven Days!
Great post! I loved it so much! <3 And I have also started to prepare for Christmas, just because it makes me so happy! :))
ReplyDeleteXO,
http://www.rosychicc.blogspot.com/
The diet Coke thing would definitely be on my list! It's the only thing I drink, so i'm hoping I can stick to drinking water more often and cut back on it, too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the Christmas one, but i've gotten into a bad habit of looking at things, thinking they would be nice for *insert name* and not buying them and thinking i'll get them next time i'm out. So, definitely need to start buying, I get too stressed it I think i've missed someone and it's a week from the actual day!
http:/pale-girl-reviews.blogspot.com
Great 7 things to do. I should probably do some of them as well! xxx
ReplyDeletehttp://jeminixlife.blogspot.com
Feeling inspired by this, definitely making a list now. Might break last minute tradition & try a little prep for Christmas! x
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I started doing a weekly post a couple of weeks ago where I try something I've seen on pinterest. It makes me feel less guilty about spending so many hours on there =)
ReplyDeleteI am a fizzy diet drink fiend, only my choice is pepsi max, I drink it every single day. I tried to cut back and ended up getting the shakes im now firmly back on it but hope to cut back one day. Ive also started my xmas shopping, I started last month EEK and im not doing too bad really, but I bet im still stressed come december x x
ReplyDeletePeople always say I'm silly that I like to sort Christmas by November but it just makes life SO much easier.

Good luck with the Diet Coke pursuit, I remember giving up Diet Pepsi. It was one of the hardest but most rewarding beverage-related experiences of my life.
ReplyDeleteI've done my own 7 things for 7 days post as well: www.lepoisson-chat.blogspot.com
Your posts always inspire me to get on the right track! I love this!
ReplyDeleteI really have to organise my wardrobe as well!
ReplyDeleteGiving up Diet Coke is one of the best things you can do for your health. Unfortunately it also increases risk of weight gain, high cholesterol, heart problems and cancers... And it's like a drug - the brain becomes addicted to it, so when you stop and get the craving just remind yourself why you are doing it in a first place.

P.S. I am hosting a giveaway at the moment and would like to invite you to take part, if you like the prize, of course. :)
