Aloha Sprinklerinos,
I have loved makeup for a very long time. I love they way you can tuck anyway any little blemishes and make you positive features shine out.
One of my (many haha) negatives is that I have incredibly rosey cheeks. Some people might like this, but I find myself trialing every product out there to conceal them. For many years I had stuck to a winning (in my opinion) mix of foundation, concealer, bronzer and highlighter and completely side stepped blush.
That was until my chum Zoe gave me a lovely makeover for a video one day and applied a dusting of rouge and abberacaddabera, it looked quite nice!!
Since then, I have been on a quest to find my perfect blushers and have built up quite a little collection.
I have recently tried these MeMeMe Blush Boxes* in Pink and Coral and thought I'd share my thoughts on them.
These little boxes of pigmented pressed powder retail for £8.50 and are pretty close dupes for the famous Benefit boxes which personally, I resent spending £20+ on. They come with a fairly decent brush and reasonably sturdy cardboard packaging. The card is all well and good for someone like me who keeps her makeup in organised draws (call me obsessed, I don't mind), but if you are a 'chuck in your beauty bag and go' kinda gal, this is quickly going to get tatty.
The duration of time that these stay put on your cheeks is perfectly fine (average I would say) and they are very easy to blend or build up if you desired.
All in all I think these are great little products for a pop of colour, with decent packaging a great value. I'm pretty tempted to try the other two in the collection as well.
Have you tried these blushes? How do you think they compare to their more pricey Benefit counterpart?
Toodlepip!
xx
PS
Guess what? I now have Tumblr! I'm fairly new to it but if you would like to tumble with me (is this correct terminology?!), then HERE is the link. As you'll see, I try and answer a few questions each night.

One day I'm going to have remortgage my house, I shall blame you, you always make me buy more beauty products haha x
ReplyDeleteI've had the coral one for around a year now and I love it. I still haven't hit pan! x
ReplyDeleteIve been pondering over these for a while, wondering whether to try them or just save up for the Benefit version. I like the look of the coral one, maybe I should just go for it :) x

ReplyDeleteThese are SO similar to the benefit boxed blushes! Pink reminds of of a discontinued one with lace packaging, I can't Remeber the name and coral reminds me of a toned Down coralista! X

ReplyDeleteThanks for this review i was thinking about buying a ME ME ME blush. Now i have to! xx http://roxibejeweled.blogspot.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteI have exactly the same problem but my rosy cheeks turn blotchy a lot of the time and I end up caking the trusty lasting perfection concealer all over my cheeks. I wish I was kidding.
ReplyDeleteHowever for my wedding makeup I was recommended Warm Soul by mac and I was sold, it's pigmented enough but the warmer shade seems to tone down the redness, and there's a bit o' shimmer too.
Alsoo (oh I am going on a bit), one of mac's primers tones down redness a lot, I'm gonna be a pluggy Pauline here but I have a little before and after picture on a review I did here: http://www.frolicsandfashion.com/2012/09/mac-prep-prime-fortified-skin-enhancer.html

I always look at these blushers when I'm in Superdrug but never tried them, I think I might have to pick one up next time I'm in. I hate paying over £20 for a benefit blusher too.

I have the same problem with rosey cheeks. I used to not wear blush at all. I found that drugstore blushes from CoverGirl, Rimmel, and so on just didn't last on my cheeks. Also, more often my natural pigmentation would over rule the blush or make it just look horrible. Until I discovered NARS blushers! NARS lasts on me and I love them! But I would love to try the MeMeMe blushers, the Pink one looks lovely!

I have rosey cheeks and I like them because they make me look young, but I think I will have a problem with them in the future
