Fantastic Father's Day

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

As tomorrow is Father's Day and I have a love of crafts, I decided to put my creative hat on and make something rather marvellous for both Matt (from Baby Glitter) and my Dad (from me, obviously).

I won't show you the finished product yet because despite saying they don't read my blog, it would be Sod's Law that they read it tonight and spoilt the surprise.

So here's a teaser....

I know it's a bit slushy but I really don't know where I'd be without my Dad. Aside from orphaned of course! He is always on hand when I need advice, supports me in all my mental little ideas and projects and knows all that 'Dad stuff' like what to do when you smash your car up or how to arrange life insurance. How do people learn that kind of thing?! They really should teach 'life' lessons in school.

If you are lucky enough to have a good Father in your life (and I appreciate that not everybody is), then don't forget to tell him you care, I bet he'll be glad to hear it. Men are emotional deep down.

What have you done for your Dad this Father's Day? Can you guess what I made? You'll have to wait and see...

Toodlepip!

xx

  1. My dad is fantastic. He's giving up his Sunday to drive 3.5hrs to my uni with me to collect the rest of my belongings and my bookcase. He's also going to repaint a wall in my room so I get my full deposit.

too poor to get him a present this year, but I've made him a card to say thanks for being amazing. He lost his father a few weeks ago so I know it'll be hard for him tomorrow/today.

  5. I absolutely adore your hair in these photos!

I've spent all night slaving over a hot oven to make my dad, who has a massive sweet tooth, some white chocolate cookies to have with his cup of tea tomorrow morning :D Put them in a fancy jar with a tag and everything :)

  6. That's such a cute idea!
My dad died a couple of years ago. :[ So I shall be going to his grave and putting some flowers and a strawberry on it. :]
He always took me strawberry picking this time of year, I've never been since he died apart from once; but it wasn't the same. :[

I just said 'happy father's day' in my head and felt a little silly, but I believe he's around. :)

I hope you (Louise & the rest of the commenters!) have a special day with your dads! xo

  14. This is adorable! I love stand alone letters!

Sadly my dad passed away before I was born but I always spend father's day with my grandfather. He may drive me a little crazy sometimes (more often than not), but he's the closest thing I've got and I really appreciate him.
I hope your Dad and Matt get spoilt and enjoy their day.

  35. Aw how lovely are you?! Love the fact you got your creative cap on, and love how adorable you look in the photos! I couldn't agree more, my dad is pretty funky too, and they always seem to know about the things that we absolutely don't!

I put a jokey spin on Father's day this year, and bought my dad a colouring book, and a 'my little pony' ball. I also baked him a cake and took it into him wearing a Jedward mask. If that's not gratitude, I'm not sure what is...!
