Aloha Sprinklerinos,
I try a lot of beauty products. A lorra lorra beauty products. Over time, it's taken a little bit more to excite me and a product has to be a little bit special to make me rave rave rave about it. Well, Impress Nails by Broadway have hit the spot. Yeah baby.
I bought this set of nails for £8.99 from Boots a few weeks ago and this weekend, finally got round to giving them a whirl. It was actually by accident as I was on a conference call (oh la la) with Mrs Thrifty for our upcoming project (any guesses) and started fiddling with the package. Within minutes I'd worked out how these little beauties worked and applied a full set. I can't stress how easy they are to do!
Each clear plastic bottle-case comes with 24 nails in 12 varying sizes. Each nail is like a little plastic shell. There is a double-sided-sticky-tape layer on the underbelly (as opposed to the patterned top area) with a tiny tab to allow you to peel it off easily. All you do is peel the tab, reveal the sticky underneath area and press on to your nail in the place you want it. And it's set. No glue mess. No drying time. Done.
(oooff pass me the Lemonyflutter cuticle butter please!)
I am THRILLED with this product. I think the packaging is cute, the range of patterns and effects is wide and the speed and ease in which you can have perfect nails is great!
The only downside for me was the price. £8.99 per pack is a lot of money. When you consider that they only last a week and if you wanted to reuse them you'd have to buy some nail glue, it's a hard sum to swallow. I looked into more affordable alternatives and I found an American Ebay seller who you can buy 2 sets from for less than £15 and that included P&P which is good news. You can rummage round that shop for yourself HERE. Or, if you would prefer to pay more/are loyal to Boots, you can find them HERE.
*So far I have only worn these for 2 days but they are still in perfect mint condition. I will come back and pop in my 'findings' on this blog post at the end of the week, so do pop back if you are interested.
All in all, love love lovity love having gorgeous easy nails. This is a bit naughty and please pretend you didn't hear it from me, buuuuut, these would be great if you had chipped nails and were in a massive rush. Simply stick on over the top and no-one's the wiser. I doubt they would last as long but I'm always up for a last minute problem solver, tehehe. Shhhh.
Are you as impressed as me with Impress nails? If not, why not?
Toodlepip!
xx

ReplyDeleteLove it - instant nail art! Who needs to be talented?!
ReplyDeleteRachel from www.whatabeauty.co.uk x
You can get them a bit cheaper in Superdrug, I think it's £5.99 for plain and £7.99 for patterned ones :)
ReplyDeleteClever packaging and a beautiful design, wonder if anyone's brave enough to recreate it with polish to save themselves some money! Thanks for the post! x

Love these nails Louise! May just have to make a cheeky purchase on them aha xxx
ReplyDeleteLoving the nails!! If they're easy to use and apply, I may just have to give them a go! Nail varnish can be so tricksy!!
ReplyDeleteGinger x
saw these in boots and i agree the price did put me off, and they seem to me like an average pair of glue-on nails.
ReplyDeletei bought these and i just dont think they agree with my nails the sticky went on one and popped off about half an hour after i applied them so i whipped out the nail glue! xox.
ReplyDeletethose look super good xx

Oh my gosh, I love these. I graduated from high school (cute little American) about 3 weeks ago and I wore the lacy ones. I think they're really great. The expensive aspect of it is a little much, but just for every once in a while I think these are totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Louise! xx
I've seen these! I might have to try them i love the pink ones! you have persuaded me, thank you! xx
ReplyDeleteThese look so cool!!
ReplyDeletePlease check out our blog?

I saw these on Fleur's blog too, and they look lovely. I'm not one for fake nails, but I think they'd be great for a special occasion.
ReplyDeleteAnd you forgot boots points as an advantage to buying them there! Or am I the only one who is obsessed with hoarding them?!

I think they are great! and like you say a quick and easy solution to pretty nails if your in a rush! I will defiantly be checking these out the next time i'm in boots. Great post, they look lovely.x

Unfortunately I don't feel that any of them fit my nails nicely :( Especially for my thumbnails. But they look amazing! I have bought one set with flowery patterns and one with giraffe print.
ReplyDeleteThe design on these nails is so gorgeous! They sound so easy to apply too, can't wait to try them out!! x
ReplyDeleteI adore these nails, i've tried many nail stickers ect but fond my nails were too big for the stickers - so these are perfect, so many different sizes. Mine lasted 6 days and the print only started to chip off towards the end of my wearing them. When ever i get some more pennies i shall defos be buying these again :)
ReplyDeletehttp://thosestarsthatshine.blogspot.co.uk/
ohh i wonder what other designs there are!
ReplyDeleteThey look great! They'd be great for a night out as I usually forget about doing my nails til a couple of hours before, then inevitably end up smudging or ruining them by getting ready. I'll have to keep some in stock :) x

I've been wanting to try these for a while and i think i will now!!

I also love love love these babies and really like using them when I want to grow my nails. Sometimes my nails are just more brittle and easily crack, etc. Popping these guys on is the perfect way to have lovely nails while waiting for my nails to pick it up a bit and get strong. I love the variety of colours but I'm a teacher, so I often opt for the classic french mani too! Thanks for sharing :D
ReplyDeleteThey look fab, such a pretty colour aswell :)
ReplyDeleteJess x
Wow, these are GORGEOUS! For some reason the packaging is really annoying to me, idk why! I'd buy these for a special do though!
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern on these! Lovely! x
ReplyDeleteI love the idea! And the pattern is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove them! x
I love the pattern, I saw Fleur wearing them and they looked wonderful!
ReplyDeletex
They are amazing ! But do they last long ? :)
ReplyDeletewww.mlncrd.com
They look lush but I stopped wearing them! My nails are a mess!
ReplyDeleteI bought some nail straps at Sephora the other day and I can't wait to try them, I've seen this on you and Fleur on your vlogs and now I can't wait to try these too! I love easy ways to have pretty nails xx
ReplyDeleteThese look amazing! I'm definitely gonna hunt around on eBay for them, perhaps get them a little bit cheaper than £8.99! They look great for holidays and summer :)
ReplyDeletehttp://gemsthings.blogspot.com
I love the look of these. The only thing that puts me off is the damage to your nails after you take them off/they fall off. I've worked very hard to get my nails back to a half decent state after months of acrylic manicures! xx
ReplyDeletehttp://missk-beauty.blogspot.co.uk/
i really wana try these now. they look fab
ReplyDeletehttp://allthingsgirly35.blogspot.co.uk/
OH my, I think I'm in love! xxx
ReplyDeleteDoes the adhesive bit become slightly less sticky every time you get your hands wet?
ReplyDeleteAs i bought some of them nail stickers a while ago and literally as soon as i washed my hand 3 peeled straight off! Obviously these will be a lot more sturdy, i was just wondering how water-resistant they are :) thanks!
I don't mean to be rude but they don't look as if they fit very well around your cuticles in the photo. Would I be able to file them if I found the same problem or would this ruin them? The pattern is absolutely beautiful though!
ReplyDeleteThe pattern on these nails are gorgeous! I just worry they might ruin my natural nails though xx
ReplyDeletejensbrightandbeautiful.blogspot.com
Hey so i live in ireland and i saw these in penneys the other day (which im pretty sure is the same as primark in England) for €8 which i think is like £6 so i hope that helps :D They're unreal by the way
ReplyDeleteOOh these look really nice - but I agree £8 is a lot to shell out for fancy talons.
ReplyDeleteS xx

Hi Louise! I was just sent a set of these to test out and was so sad to discover that my ginormous thumb nail is too big for even the largest "impress" size! I couldn't believe it. I've never had this problem with other "press-on" nails so my feeling is that these nails are a little on the small size. I hope they realize this and start including at least one size bigger in there. Bummer!
ReplyDeleteWith the amount of time I spend painting my nails, these are a godsend! x
ReplyDeleteLove these, so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI agree though, maybe a tad expensive but they could be justified for a special occasion!
lovesmilesandbeauty.blogspot.com
I got these in red in one of my GlossyBoxes I received. I love the colour you have though! x
ReplyDeleteThese nails are amazing! Mine have lasted 2 weeks! Only having to replace 3 in that time. They endured a muddy English music festival and a 5 day drip to new York
ReplyDeleteThe pattern look great on your nails! I could only see me wearing these on a special occasion as the price I rather spend for a regular bottle of Essie
ReplyDeleteOnaRoadtoNeon.Blog.com
Great idea, but this website launching on December 1st has a similar idea but with HAND-PAINTED nails! www.lulunails.co.uk
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Post I love it reading. Thank you for sharing the information.
