Aloha Sprinklerinos,
With Summer in full swing (or at least whenever it feels like it), I have noticed that I am migrating towards warmer colours in my accessories.
I find that in S/S I go for golds and warm tones and then in the Winter I prefer silvers and purples. Why is this? There must be some psychology behind it.
(Oooooooohhh faannnccyyy- rounded corners!)
A couple of pieces I have been wearing a LOT of late are this bead and skull bracelet* from Unique Beads (£5) and these dinglydangly earrings from River Island (£12).
The earrings are long, jazzy and make a little tinkling noise as they move. I heart them so very much with volumised curly hair and a plain top/dress. This is a bit old school Disney, but they sort of remind me of Esmarelda from the Hunchback of NotreDame. Hmmm, I wish I was a French gypsy girl who could do mysterious tricks and look that hot in rags!
Just a quick post today because my cousin and her chums are coming over to have a trial run for their prom makeup that I'm doing. If they'll let me, I'll show you the before and afters. This year I'm doing 6 girls prom makeup looks, so I'm very excited.
What colours do you migrate to in Summer?
Toodlepip!
xx

These are my summer colours too, and I'm the same in winter I prefer silvers...maybe we associate the gold with the sunshine, or the tans we hope to achieve (we're simple creatures after all!)
ReplyDeleteOhh prom makeup, how exciting! I'd love to see what you do.

I tend to gravitate towards brights in spring/summer months like aquas and corals and in autumn/winter teals and greys.
ReplyDeleteI have a birthday fast approaching and have asked for 'costume jewelry'. I've been somewhat stuck in a rut of ate, particularly with earrings always opting for my pearl/studs where as I used to be all about the danglers (ooh er)
xx
Loving the skull bracelet! There's similar ones in Claires but this looks better quality for the same price :)

I love turquoise jewellery , especially in the summer, I think it looks amazing on a tan! I myself wear silver all year round but that's just out of convenience, I envy those who wear lots of different jewellery. I think there is something to it, I naturally find myself wanting to dress more grunge in the winter and more girly in the summer :) xx
ReplyDeleteoh i love them too. they are gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteAloha Louise!
ReplyDeleteI write a completely different type of blog to you, probably bordering on the total opposite, but I love to pop by and catch up on your beautiful blog.
I started watching you a few weeks ago and you're genuinely one of the loveliest people to grace YouTube, your videos with Zoe are of epic proportions and I think every girl wants a friendship like yours. I think you're a great mother, wife, friend and role model and I just wanted to pop by with a little message to say keep doing what you do!

Gorgeous colour combo....I find the same with the colour migration...
ReplyDeleteI gear towards rose golds, brushed golds and sunset colours for the Summer (when it's actually sunny!) Icy colours I save for the Winter.
This season, I might even be daring and get some neon in my life...hmmmm....
