Live Facebooking || London 2012 Olympics

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

I am all of a buzz and dither! I'm sat watching the Opening Ceremony for the London Olympics and in my opinion, it's AMAZING!

I absolutely LOVE things like this. I feel like the whole world celebrates together. With this unity and community in mind, I have been (and still am) 'live facebooking'. This means is that I am updating my wall/timeline in sync with the ceremony, giving thoughts, praise, questions etc and then all of the Sprinklerino facebook community are joining in and in turn, giving their thoughts, praise and ideas. It really is great fun and I'm loving interacting with you all.

If you would like to join us, THIS is my Facebook Page and you can see everything we have all discussed, from light up beds to the Queen's little wry smile, it's a lovely atmosphere over here!

So what are you waiting for? Come and join the sparkly party!

Toodlepip!

  9. It was amazing! Great job Britain! I love when all countries celebrate together. The part with the beautiful James Bond Lady (aka The Queen) and Daniel Craig was my favourite. And the défilé with all those beautiful outfits. It was stunning!

  13. Loved it too, especially the music (especially the 80s stuff) and the fireworks - it's exactly what I'd want my wedding to be like except on a slightly smaller scale LOL! Loved watching what the athletes from the different countries were wearing - there were some crackers! I especially loved the Dominican athletes in their orange tartan and the Czech's in their wellies!

  18. It was amazing! I really enjoyed it, I always do. I love the Olympics! Sir Paul McCartney's performance was awesome, he is still so talented! He's aged quite a bit though, lol. I love Queen Elizabeth and her modesty. I've actually never heard her speak before until last night. I've always been under the impression, she might be shy and I love that about her. Kate Middleton looked gorgeous. I think a lot of the images we see of her in magazines are pretty, but really don't do her justice. It's hard to know when photos are airbrushed or not. You can tell in those photos she is a naturally beautiful woman, but last night was proof of that. Aside from her wedding, that is the most beautiful she has ever looked. And, both Prince Harry and Prince William were so handsome, as always. I'm a big fan of the Brits, so I'm happy that they are hosting it this year. The whole thing was so moving and exciting and you're right, I love seeing how all of the countries come together, I don't know why we can't be that way with each other always. It was beautiful!

Did you see how beautiful some of those women were? There was a girl I believe from Sri Lanka, absolutely drop dead gorgeous! They panned in on her, so obviously the person operating the camera agreed.

What a wonderful event and celebration. Looking forward to gymnastics and swimming!

  24. I was watching your like facebooking throughout the whole event.
I live all the way on the other side of the world in Australia so I had to get up at 5:30am to be ready for the ceremony, there was no way I was missing it. First of all, I love the unity it bring. It makes you feel apart of something greater. Also, as an Australian I feel a special sort of tie with the UK, considering my (convict) relatives were born there.
The whole event was absolutely magical and I'll admit I shed some tears ever now and then. Especially when they dropped the 7 billion pieces of paper. It was a lovely gesture and it made the world feel a little bit closer together.
I'd love for you to do more live blogging, maybe even the closing ceremony? I know it's not as widely watched or celebrated but it could be just as much fun.
