Aloha Sprinklerinos,
Give me a wooden dresser and I'll sand and distress it, give me a pretty glass plate and I'll fill it with candles, drop me off at a craft fair and I'm in heaven. I am a through and through shabby chic addict.
I adore 'prettying' things up and just taking ordinary objects and making them quaint. You might call it twee, but it floats my boat and lights my fire. Oh yeah.
I thought I would share a cute little idea with you that I have been doing a lot lately. Also, it's free- what more could you want?
On summer patio evenings, rather than drinking out of regular glasses, I have been saving little glass jars from jams and sauces, thoroughly washing them, adding cute straws (I bought mine HERE), fruity cocktail sticks, ice and voila!
It's not a big deal, but it's fun, free and makes us smile. These are also great if you have little ones coming over as they seem to think it very novel indeed to have a drink out of a jam jar. I'm totally with them on that one, haha.
Does this little idea tickle your pickle?
Toodlepip!
xx

ReplyDeleteA Bite of Glamour
Well done, Louise! My favorite little bar in my city serves their drinks in jars like that. They also fill them with little snacks like nuts and crackers. It's really cute!

Love this idea! It all looks so cute especially with those adorable straws!
ReplyDeleteI've been doing this (sans cute straws sadly) because I am addicted to juicing my fruit and veg and it's easy to just pack it and take it in my car rather than bring a mug and spill carrot juice all over myself.
Please keep doing these ideas as they really brighten up a rainy day with how easy they are to do! xx

ReplyDeleteI bought a rake head from etsy to hang necklaces on, and a distressed wooden shelf with drawer handles for my scarves. I can't make the stuff, but I love the concept !

Jars as glasses is so in and chic at the moment - I hadn't thought of saving up jam jars though, I'd been eyeing up the fancy ones with actual handles. Nice work, lady!

With you completely on this one hun-I don't have any normal glasses any more in my house, only jars to drink out of! Some of my friends think I'm a little weird but I really like it :) XX
ReplyDeleteLouise what a fab & simple idea. I'll be moving out this time next year & trying to build up a little collection of bits & bobs so the house isn't completely empty. I have now added empty jam jars to my long list of things to take with me :)
ReplyDeleteThank you xx

Super idea! I like to use old jars too! I use them to hold tea-light candles for summer garden parties. You can keep them as they are or you can get glass paint, gems and other bits & bobs from craft shops to decorate them. You can make them really cute! Its fun and easy to do too!
ReplyDeletehttp://lynn-babysteps.blogspot.co.uk/

Hello would you mind stating which blog platform you're working with? I'm going to start my own blog in the
ReplyDeletenear future but I'm having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something completely unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to
ask!
