Wonder Forest Wonder Girl


Aloha Sprinklerinos,

So, let's address the elephant in the room- I've had a little change about on my blog. I alluded to it back in THIS blog post and hurrah huzzah, it's had a little makeover.

One of my most comment blog enquiries is, 'How did you get your blog to look the way it did?' and in short, the answer is, I didn't. Dana did.



Dana is a blogger and designer who has transformed this blog into something I liked the look of into something I LOVE the look of and I think she's worth her weight in gold. I'm singing her praises because hopefully those of you who are struggling with customising your blogs will now hop over to her Design Page and see what she's all about.

As well as being a wonderful technical wizz, Dana has written a full ebook. Now, before I read through it, I thought an ebook would be about 8 pages of a word document with some fancy fonts. Wrong. It's a full on proper length book!!! This book is all about blogging and what Dana has learnt and observed on her journey through it. If you are a blogger, are thinking about dipping your toe in the water or are just interested to learn more about this emerging world, definitely give this a looksie. You can find it HERE. 

Annnnnddd, if you really can't get enough of her (don't lie, you get addicted to people online too), she is on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter to boot. What a woman!

So, now you know the secrets of the new look, I hope that helps some of you or removes some of the mystery behind it all because I remember when I started out I found it all very daunting and wished somebody had been a bit more transparent with me.

    Hi Louise. Great recommendation for blog designs. But do you know other designers who offer a much affordable rates? Most of us especially the beginners can't afford $300 designs. Thanks.

      It's also a bit sad that the $300 price is just the basics, doesn't include the buttons and other graphics yet. If you search custom designs on Etsy, you can get the same quality for a much cheaper price (less than $150)

      Yeah! I think her designs are really cute but it's a bit too pricey! I do admire her job though!
      And I think Louise's blog design fits her personality just right! Happy and bubbly! :)

      Her rates seem expensive at first but it truly is a "get what you pay for" situation. I have worked with Dana in the past and although I do my own design stuff now (or try to) the design she made for me was perfect from top to bottom. There were things that she included that most people wouldn't even notice but made everything 100% polished. It's worth the money if you want 100%. Another thing that sets designers like her apart is that she codes the entire thing. Everything lines up because it's all a solid piece and she doesn't use image maps. Coding the whole thing also means that your design is one of a kind and not a free template with some of the graphics changed.

      I use a free template now and just customize it, because I'm trying to learn....but if I didn't care about learning html and wanted a top notch, best of the best design; Dana would be my first stop. Plus she's a doll and super professional.

    Dana's work is amazing! :) I always do my designs and layouts on myself, but sometimes I wish I had a person for all the HTML stuff.
