Aloha Sprinklerinos,
You know when a product surprises you and you feel a bit excited by it? That.
Soap and Glory has always been a brand that I have associated with lovely smelling lotions and potions, not staple makeup products. Until now.
This matte neutral quad retails for £10 (I bought mine in Boots) and has swiftly become one of my makeup bag essentials.
With three matte shades and one shimmer, this is the perfect product to create a subtle, easy day look. 'Pink T' (the shadow with the embossed words in it), is brilliant in the crease of your eye and 'Vanilla' (the cream) is fantastic for your inner corners and under the brow bone.
Mudhoney (bottom left) is also quite nifty for eyebrows too. I do love a bit of multifuntioning. Real word there.
I'm really pleased with how sturdy this packaging it and enjoy the clear lid that enables you to see what you have floating about your beauty stash.
All in all, this palette has a big thumbs up to me and I feel very confident recommending it to you.
Go forth and enjoy!!
Have you tried anything like this before? Would you ever switch from shimmers to mattes? I'm glad I did!
Toodlepip!
xx

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Im so addicted to Soap and Glory, but unfortunately those naughty folks dont sell their makeup range in Canada. Sad times. X

Great review as usual, Lousie. We prefer matte shades for a casual day look so this palette looks very appealing to us. But like Zoe we have the same probem of getting our hands on them here in australia

the colors look sooo nice. i have no idea if i can pick them up where i live. i would love to get the palette.

I think they would be so pretty on darker skin. It may be too pink and too dark for my ultra-fair skin. Might be wrong though. It's pretty none-the-less.

I love the explanation the case gives on the backside as to why they do not include a brush. It made me giggle. Brilliant! The aubersheen color looks like the perfect mixture between matte and sparkle, which is ideal for me at the moment. Lovely post, as usual Louise!

I have this palette, I started using the matte brown to fill in my eyebrows as the shade I use in my HD Brow palette was getting quite low and I wanted to save it! They are really similar, so there's a tip for you! :-)

I love Soap and Glory make up range, it's so fab! I love their eyeliners, check them out Louise! (I am a bit of a sucker for a liner though.) I definitely prefer matte colours then adding shimmer to either the inner corners or under and above my brow bone. Whenever I get photo's with shimmer eyeshadow on the camera flash just makes my eye balls like light bulbs. BRIGHT!
ReplyDeleteAnother fab post and I'll definitely check these quads out as I think they have more colours too?

ReplyDeleteI kind of waver between shimmers and mattes. I think I look better in matte colours but there's nothing wrong with a bit of shimmer and glitter every now and again!

I love the look of these colours, especially because I've been looking for a neutrals palette but wasn't as impressed with S&G's other eyeshadows. Hopefully these are different because they're a great range of colours!

This product has a very long list of ingridients. When I see long list like this it makes me wonder about product safety. Products with long ingridients list are usually more harmful. I have started checking all ingredients in my make up against this website: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/
ReplyDeleteAlso useful website: http://www.naturisimo.com/aboutus_policy.cfm

Oooo those colours look right up my street! I'm a sucker for a good neutrals palette, and a HUGE Soap & Glory fan.
ReplyDeleteI always tend to go for matte shades for an everyday look, but turn on the shimmer for a night out! :)
What does the palette usually sell for? I'm sorely tempted to pick one up, but need to talk it over with my purse first!
