Aloha Sprinklerinos,
Not too many weeks ago, on a cold, grey day, after we'd taken Darcy for a lovely milkshake that she prompty threw up, gone home, washed and changed, we went to a near by spot to see some sheep and lambs. Yeah, that's right, the weather was sh*t and we'd dealt with puke. Good start.
As you can see from the photos, things that day didn't get much better.
We paid to see the lambs and she cried.
We decided it might be nice to have a look round the grounds and she cried about that too.
The only thing that would soothe her was being carried by Mama, which as you can imagine, got pretty tiring pretty quickly. So, we didn't look round the little art shops, we didn't stop for a bite to eat and we didn't admire the birds in the aviary.
Instead, we got in the vomitmobile and drove home.
The moral of this lifestyle blog post is that even when people/families/lives appear 100% perfect online, they're not. Everyone deals with crap, bloggers just know how to take good photos of it ;)
Do you ever look at other people's lives via their blog with envy? I know I do!!
Toodlepip!
xx

Aww I'm sorry your day didn't turn out so well :( But the photos are gorgeous! Even the one of Darcy crying her eyes out! My day was spent at work, with my sweaty and tired first graders.
ReplyDelete, oh absolutely, I think that lifestyle bloggers do such an incredible job of finding the good (and pretty things) in life and writing about it, it is such a positive group! Poor little bub, she's so sweet! xx
ReplyDeleteAwww!!! Your daughter is beautiful! Crying or not...she's a doll! :)
ReplyDeletehttp://hairandmakeupitsforfun.blogspot.com
Always. I see people comment on YouTube videos bemoaning the fact that they don't live similar lives to you guys, which is a bit like wanting to live in those little display rooms in Ikea x
ReplyDeleteHaha poor Darcy. She had a bad day. Who hasn't, sometimes?
ReplyDeleteAww Darcy's eyes are so GORGEOUS in that first picture, wow! and those cuuuuute little lambs. I know all about grumpy little ones haha, sometimes you've just got to accept that your plans aren't gonna work out haha.
ReplyDeletePoor baby Darcy...she's also cute even when she's crying!
ReplyDeleteI love how realistic you are!:)
Aww shame it didn't end up being a nice day :(

Thank you for sharing with us that your life isn't perfect, I know it's dangerous to think of some people being perfect as it's never possible to live up to that!

Oh no, poor Darcy. Hope she gets better soon - the same goes for your day! :) x

Aww poor Darcy, I am so glad that you wrote this I often finding myself feeling inadequate when looking at other peoples blogs. I was seriously touched when I watched your draw my life video, you have been through so much and I would have honestly never known that from how positive and happy you are. I guess what I am trying to say is it is refreshing to see you share things like this.
ReplyDeletexx
Cute sheep.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous little Darcy.
A very strong, trooper of a mother!
You always put a smile on my face Louise, but it's pretty damn unfortunate the yourself and Darcy weren't exactly smiling during this outing either.

Awww bless, she's still a cutie even when she's crying! And those sheep are adorable! I think it's very easy for people to look at all the lovely posts you do and assume that you and other bloggers have a perfect life, but it's important to remember that you guys are just normal people too!

Yep, this is a blog all about the normalcy of one's life. Very fitting and this is just how life is!! Thanks for sharing some plain old everyday life!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this Louise. Reminds me of those 'friends' most of us have on facebook that present their lives as being so wonderful all the time and it's just grating. Bad days happen to everyone - but it's what you make of them too. I'd probably have got back in the car all grumpy and been snappy and miserable but I bet you can see the best in anything and make the most of it. You're great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post :)

I know what you mean - People only get to see a little section of a bloggers life. Great blogpost :)
ReplyDeleteamylaurenblog.blogspot
I don't know how doesn't..
ReplyDeletep.s her face is too much..
It can be so hard, especially with blogs, not to compare my chapter in life to someone else's. Some days I've just got to remind myself that at the end of the day, we're all human! Always love your posts, Louise :)
ReplyDeleteI'm betting most of those sheep are call Shaun.
ReplyDeleteNot much cuter than a sweet baby girl and sweet baby animals!!

ReplyDeletehttp://fashionbeauty96.blogspot.co.uk/
I love sheep and lambs!! And pigs and dogs too. Not sure if the photo of Darcy crying was supposed to be funny (not trying to be mean!) but I cracked up! I was all scrolling through the sheep pics.. then that one appeared and I chuckled. I <3 your blog and your videos, I hope I get to meet you one day! Love from San Francisco! x.
ReplyDeleteThis post made me chuckle :) The animals are pretty sweet looking but not as cute as Darcy! It's nice knowing that there are flawed days in others' perfect-looking lives, and I don't mean that horribly!
ReplyDeleteWow..I like pic baby..funny..lol.

Omg! Darcy is sooo cute! It's sad your day didn't pass like it was plan :(
ReplyDeletehttp://sarahmaud.blogspot.ca/
This is great! You are so right about bloggers being able to make everything look that much better, more perfect and happy...all the time. ALthough I'm sure you weren't giggling at the time, I must admit, reading your account of some crappy moments made me chuckle - I can relate to days being a long string of unplanned less-than-perfect moments.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that little Darcy looks very cute...grumpy and all!
Maria
The picture of you and Darcy is so beautiful! I love reading your posts :-)

ReplyDeletehttp://louloubella92.blogspot.co.uk/
Even when darcy is an angry bunny she is still a total sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes it's true, the successful blogger would generally appear to have a life filled with constant excitement, wonderful fashion moments, and the best food in the world.
As a food blogger devoted to beautiful, rustic home cooking, I can hold up my hands and admit tonight's dinner was a Ham sandwich!
Thanks for sharing darling' take care xx
I love this post its so true! Darcy is so beautiful!

I think I look at most blogs and feel that way actually, but it's nice to know (even though, deep down I know) that you lead as normal a life as I do!
ReplyDeleteOh I always look at your blogs with envy. You are so beautiful, handsome husband, and the most beautiful baby I have ever seen! :) I know your life isn't perfect, but you are blessed with such amazing family and friends. You inspire me every day Lovely Louise!
